Screwdriver recommendations

I have a few snap on screwdrivers and yes there is a difference. They are so much nicer to use than my craftsman.
I'd like a complete set but I'm wondering if I have to buy snap on to get that level of quality? Of course if there are alternatives that are the same quality that cost less I'd prefer that. If you guys say that snap on is unmatched in quality then I guess I'll save up and get them eventually. Also are any of these warrantied for life or are they wear items?

I have the newer Snap On instinct handle set and a Cornwell set(witte germany). I wish I could take the tips from the Cornwell and put them on the Snap On handles. The p2 tip on the Cornwell can hold the screw and support the weight of the driver while holding it by the screw upside down. The Cornwell(witte) handles are growning on me. Bang for buck though I love my Craftsman pros. I use them in my road box and for the money and easy warranty they are great. I hve never had any issues with them and they actually get used more than the rest because I do most of my work on the road. They are identical to the cushion grip SK but much cheaper and easier to get and warranty.

I'm a Wiha addict personally. You can get them from amazon or wihatools.com. Wanting to try to PB swiss. But it seems that screwdrivers, due to their nature, are more of a personal presence than other tools.

Just got a set of wera's and picked up some snap on and wiha's at an auction. I prefer the wera's the best then the wiha's and lastly the snap ones they are very similar to my craftsman no pro screwdrivers.

For blade quality so far my favorites that I've tried are German made Wiha screwdrivers., or the French manufactured screwdrivers sold under a few different brand names, including Facom, USAG, Stanley Proto Blackhawk, and some of the older SK.

A while back I updated my screwdriver collection with Williams from toolsdelivered..I picked up the 6 pc flat and 6 pc philips...They are exactly like my old SO's....And cheap, too...(Both delivered for like $70...)

Another vote for Wiha.

Check out kctoolco.com and micro-tools.com (both are authorized dealers, and have great prices and service in my dealings with them = I prefer them to Amazon or wihatools.com).

I'll second that...I too think the Craftsman Professionals are the best bang for the buck. I love mine. Of course the Snap On's are great, no doubt about it, but they're also really pricey. Almost everything from Snap On is...

The JH Williams Premium screwdrivers are identical to the old Snap-on hard handle drivers at a lower price. Might be worth a look. There is also a Williams version of the well-regarded Snap-on ratcheting screwdriver.

I have husky pro (made in USA) and SK. The SK are comparable to any tool truck brand I think. The husky pros are awesome for the price, although I prefer the square shape of the Sk.

I have a set of Craftsmans clear handles for beating on, Felo and Snap On for everyday use.

Just one thing to point out about the Williams USA drivers.

They ARE NOT identical to the older Snap-on hard handle screwdrivers. In two different threads members have compared the old Snap-on hard handles and the new Williams drivers. The Williams drivers are slightly larger.

I'm not knocking the Williams drivers. Lots of people here have good things to say about them. The Williams are not identical to the old Snap-on drivers, but the two styles are very, very similar.

I added a set of Williams a couple months ago so I can leave my Snap On hard handles at the hangar (where they get used a bunch). The Williams are equivalent quality and feel, and my large hands like the slightly larger handles. Great product, great price.

I really like my SK's

I picked up a set of Klutch brand (Northern Tool) for beating on, scrap runs, tool bag...and I'm suprised how well they are holding up so far.

I own the latest Snap On & Matco screwdrivers.

The Matco has the bet fit for Phillips screws. Snap on screwdrivers work well, but not as good at Matco.

I have used Wilha before and was quite impressed with their fit, but their handles leave something to be desired.

I have seen WERA screw drivers at WOODCRAFT stores and have been wanting to pick up a set to use. These drivers seem reasonably priced.

Craftsman Pro are ok, they work and are a great deal around Christmas & Fathers day.

Hmm, don't forget that Wera and Felo both made a similar type.

I own a set of black Snap-on hard handles as well. The #2 Phillips has never been put to a screw that it fits. Don't know if I got a bad one or what.

It is almost uncanny how the Wihas grab a screw. The bolster, the cap, the tips, the handle material, the shape... all perfect.

I was initially skeptical of the more rounded handle but after using them I feel you get as much torque as a more square one yet the are faster handling.

One thing to remember...the Craftsman Pro's are the SK's. Well, only cheaper.
