I have been searching the forum for awhile now and I would like to get advice from the experts. I have a 24 x 24 red iron building with a 6" slab. There is no vapor barrier installed under the concrete and they used a power trowel to finish it. I am looking at sealing it because I will be doing some welding and metal work. I have read through the different threads and would like to use the densifier with Ghostshield 8510 that was mentioned. I would like to see if this would be a good option for me and see what is best way to apply it. Also, I have white liner panels around the interior walls and would like to know if the chemicals will eat any of the paint off if it were to come in contact when applying. Thanks.

Use a pump up sprayer with a cone nozzle for both applications. If the densifier begins to puddle, you can use a push broom to move it around. GhostShield is now saying that one flood coat is all that is needed over the densifier. Just apply it with the sprayer until it begins to puddle on the surface. Neither product should hurt the paint, but it would be wise to tape it off with plastic first.

If i may hijack a bit,will this work on a wood floor or is there something else i can use to seal it that is petroleum resistant?thanks

We offer flexible epoxies and topcoat that can be used on wood floors. That being said if the floor panels expand and contract from temperature or humidity you could still develop small cracks which are easily touched up. Unfortunately there is no solution for that other than going to a membrane type traffic coding which is extremely expensive.

One more question. I received my Ghostshield today and am going to clear out the shop to start coating. I believe I need to apply the densifier and wait 7 days before applying the Ghostshield. How long after I apply the densifier do I need to wait before I roll stuff back into the shop? It's not vehicles or anything large, just a few items on furniture dollies.

Ruining or staining? I just built a 28x32 w/ 4-4.5" slab w/ fiber concrete. what is the purpose of sealing the floor. is it necessary or optional?
Staining and fluids getting into the floor affect it cosmetically. If you live in an area that has winter and road salt then the floor over time could get severely corroded from road salts hence why to protect it. Also oils and such leaching into the floor can make it slippery since it’s hard to clean.
