Just picked up my set over lunch, they had tons of them on display for $179 on sale $20 off. They looked it up on the web for me and gave me the $99 price.

They must have just changed the price on the web then :headscrat

A question for those more experienced wit the Sears system if I might.
After all the hoops were jumped through, my order was entered and a confirmation number issued after Sears got my chargecard information. At this time no charge from Sears appears on the card.

The site said I would get an email confirming, and another email when the item arrived at the store for pickup since none were at the store.
It's now been a full two days and neither email has arrived. Is this the normal course of events with Sears?

I've never ordered a item for pickup from a store that doesn't have the part in stock. I would assume you will need to wait for the item to get to the store in question, so that may take more than a couple of days. I normally get all the emails within a day.

I wouldn't waste my time with the Crftsman version BMW linked to; the action of the ratchet is far to coarse for my liking. The Gearwrench brand and those similar in design are smooth as glass though!

Cool...I didn't order them. I'm a GearWrench guy...even though the wrenches kill my hands under hard wrenching.

I work for Sears here in Lincoln, Ne and this is what I believe is happening here. The item in question is possibly out of stock at the warehouse and thus has not shipped so no charge to your card and no e-mails. When it shipps then it will charge to your card and you will get the confirmation e-mail. When you ordered did you have it set up to pick up in the store or did you set it up to ship to your home? Also was it ordered from the website or did they order it at the register? If ordered from the web it would have been a seperate kiosk away from the register counter.

Please have patience as we are experiencing the best buisiness of the year and many items are running into an out of stock situation and may take more time to get. An example is the 19.2 volt drill bmwpower linked to. We are out of stock at the store, the web site is out of stock (cant' order on web) and we can't order at the registers. More will come in but it is a waiting game for right now.

Wed I ordered an in stock 4.8v impact screwdriver online with local pickup and showing in stock. I didn't have a confirmation by noon on Thursday, so I printed my order page and stopped by the Sears later in the afternoon to buy the 145 pc mechanics set, and computer showed both in stock, with no actual anybody could find. I eventually found one impact screwdriver in a pile on the counter, but it was tagged for somebody else to pickup.

I drive home and waiting for me is an email pickup notification on the impact driver. Sears was on the way during a later errand, so I stopped back in and scanned my email at the pickup kiosk. 5 min later the kid comes up from the basement with a flex socket that was missing from a 9/15 order I made, but no impact screwdriver. Swiping my credit card triggered the socket from the old order, but since I only had a pickup notice for the impact I couldn't have the socket I paid for on 9/15.

Kid goes looking for the manager of tools and I tag along behind. Manager looks over my paperwork, which is for the impact, and says whats this got to do with the socket? I recite the history for him, and he picks up the impact on the counter and scans the pickup ticket taped to it, which shows its already picked up. Two must have been pulled and other person took the one tagged to me for some reason, so I get the one tagged to him, but what about the socket. Manager has disappeared by now, but the kid shows back up after finding him and gives me my socket, and I am out the door with socket and impact screwdriver.

I didn't have the heart to tell them the socket was the wrong size, due to a swap made six weeks ago in trying to sort out the 9/15 order, but hopefully I can get the right size when I pick up the 145 pc set I have a rain check for.

eschoendorff says that Sears *****. I think I might have said it a time or two as well.

Oh yeah... and BTW... Sears *****!

Edit.... maybe i should elaborate a little. "Sears" was the first word that I learned to read. My family grew up with Sears and it was, at one time, a store of great product integrity and customer service. i have watched, sadly, as Sears has declined into a pathetic parody of its former self. It kills me to admit that today, Sears is synonymous with ****. What a shame.

all the stuff in the sears by me was marked $10 higher than online. THe discounts were not supposed to be online only prices so that was annoying. I didn;t print out every single item that I was interested in so I would have gotten the run-around and they'd deny, deny, deny.

Sneaky way for a local store to price things. All of them still said sale but they were higher prices.

Too bad this sale is right before Christmas. I have been waiting for the flex Gearwrenches. Broke college student before Christmas doesn't leave any money for tools...:(

How often do they put stuff 50% off? I would really like to pick up that 145 pc set, most if not all of it would be dups in my box, but this is the wrong time of year! I could sell the ratchets on ebay I guess. (I just picked up the 50% off on the slim lines the other day!)

Lately they've been doing it twice a week but I'm wondering the same thing. After christmas they might wait a while to put anything on sale...

I'm hoping they put a few of their socket sets, deep and shallow 3/8 and 1/2 on 50% off. That's what I would like now.

Part of the reason many things get very short, very large discounts, is that many items will get returned after Xmas without receipts, so you get a store credit of the lowest recent (90 days I think) sale price. Plenty of people miss the big sale, $199 -> $99, buy it at full price or the hokey $179 "sale" price, and get hit again when its returned and they only get $99 credit without a receipt.

I stopped shopping at Mervyns because the day after xmas they ran a 50% off sale on the type of shirt my inlaws gave me in the wrong size every year, and if I missed the sale I could only exchange my two shirts in the wrong size (and style) for one shirt I liked.

Comes up 48.99 when I click on the link.......save $91.00

too bad I just got a Hitachi last year....love that drill.. Anyone know who makes the Sears brand....heard nothing but complaints from people who owned them anyways....

I just bought the 4 piece combo. I had the 19.2v worklight in my saved cart from the last deal (2 piece drill kit) and I got the extra worklight for free.

If you're going to buy the 4 piece kit, try adding a separate 19.2v worklight!
