Interesting that they do not list New Britain that did make hand tools for Sears prior to the Litton purchase but do list Litton.

The first three digits of a power tools model number serve as the "OEM Code" hand tools have makers marks that can be used to identify the oem & date range of manufacture.

BE = New Britain, ca. 1931 - 1947

You may want to refer to these lists for additional information on hand tools.
