I'll read through the other threads and see what folks have...hopefully we can trade multiples with each other, etc.

Also, if you're looking to get flare wrenches or 3/4 drive and have 1/4 or 3/8 sockets, you'll need to put up 2 sockets for each wrench or 3/4 traded. Seems fair, as wrenches are 2x the price and the 3/4 stuff has more value..let me know if i'm out of line there...I could probably be convinced otherwise :D

I was just missing one flare wrench on both the standard and metric sizes from my scoop at Sears... so i decided to just buy what I needed the 19mm-21mm

It came with 3 other wrenches which I already have:

17mm x 19mm ends are offset
13mm x 14mm -V- 44177
10mm x 12mm -V- 44176

Stopped at the Sears in Eureka, CA yesterday. Nothing was marked, but they were indeed ringing up at .97 cents. I started scanning them myself, but the freakin' self-scanner broke after about 10 scans... so I just asked one of the helpful sales people to scan them. They couldn't believe they were rining up at $0.97.

They don't stock individual flare nut wrenches at that Sears - the one I got was unmarked in the "fell out of a set" tub in the corner of the tool section. It wouldn't ring up in their system, so the manager just gave it to me for the same price as the sockets to get rid of it.

I got the following:

Does anyone have access to less than retail pricing for the 3/8 metric flex sockets? I'm looking for 10, 13, 14 & 15. Called my local Sears Hardware (these sizes were on sale last week) and they had them marked $9.79 ea :eyecrazy:

just made my haul from sears, random 1/4 and 3/8 flex sockets were marked down and a handful of flare nut wrenches!! I got 27 sockets in total and 7 flare wrenches for $42 hahah

I think I got a 14mm by me for .97, not sure if it was the 1/4 or 3/8. I wish the 10/13/15 were marked down but oh well

One of my local Sears has put all of their long pattern Pro/Full Polish wrenches on clearance. There are two SAE sets (both USA), and 3 metric (1 USA, 2 Chicom). I could work out a deal with anyone who may want a set...

They are listed at $72 a set (~25% off), with tax is $79. It is the large 13 piece set.

I could probably fit them into one of the longer medium flat rate boxes, shipping would be nuts in the tray they are in on the shelf. Given that, it would be a better deal if someone wanted both a SAE and metric set, it is only about $9 off list otherwise.

That is not bad normally 100 dollars, I got mine couple years back for about 70 dollars, they were on sale for 80 dollars and a coupon for 15 off of any order over 75 dollars.

Some one had already hit the Washington Square Mall Sears by ther time I got there it was really slim pickins and only was able to pickup a couple flex 5/8 and 11/16 in 3/8" drive. But at least I didn't miss out totally.

I know this is turning into the neverending thread . . but there is still stuff to scrounge up so keep at it. And for all the guys outside of this thread that are sick of hearing about it all I can say is: $29.99 socket for $0.97 - are you serious"?:rocker:

Hit my local again after realizing - the larger 3/4 weren't marked, I forgot to check the smaller 3/4 . . .sure enough - five more 3/4 sockets - 15/16, 1", 7/8 and two 1 1/16. Also picked up one of the 1/2 inch evo 9pc sets for $5.97 (what the hell I don't have any 1/2" except for impacts) - total 11.66.

My store had all the polished wrench sizes that have been on sale but I had them scanned and they are still showing full price.:sad:

Oh well, worth the 90% savings!

The local sears I was at had a good selection of 3/4 drive , about 7-8 of them. And allot of the 3/8 and 1/4 dr socket. Big city not as many shade tree guys I guess.

Walked into the San Mateo (Hillsdale) store today and found a 7-piece, 3/8" drive, 6 point, Made in the USA, metric flex socket set on sale for $27. Its like this one:

This set comes with 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17 and 19 mm flex sockets. A nice set for the price, but really, who uses an 11mm? Really? They couldn't have substitute a 14mm instead?! Must have been spec'ed by someone who never worked on cars....Nevertheless, the sales person told me he expected the remaining loose sockets to go on sale soon. If so, I'll be looking for that 14mm flex....Good Luck!

I hope you're kidding. That 11mm is probably the second most used behind a 10mm. The only other that would be close is a 13mm. I am surprised that a 14 wasn't included.

Not even close! I'll use a 14mm 50:1 vs an 11mm... maybe even more

OK, what are you working on that requires the use of an 11mm? Is it a car? If so, what make? Most Japanese cars use 8, 10, 12, 14, 17 and 19; Euro cars 10, 13, 15, 17, 19 and 21mm. I almost never use 11mm.

Mostly American cars from before 2000. Lots of BBC and BB Mopar. It will also work on most 7/16 nuts and bolts. I work on a lot of muscle cars and race cars. They are great for slightly wrong sized 7/16 header bolts and U-joint straps. Nitrous fittings and intake bolts are really bad about fit.

Figured I'd throw one last list out before returning what I don't need. Prefer trading to selling, but I have no problem selling these if you want to make an offer.
