I don't know if it'll work or not, but maybe we should get all of the chatter out of the regular hot deals thread before people get their ******* in a bunch.

Below is what I've found. These, afaik, were true at four different Sears stores in CT (Corbin's Corner, Meriden, Enfield, and Buckland Hills). Only Meriden had anything marked. The local Sears hardware (Bristol) had all of these and more on clearance too but the prices were all higher ($1.88 for regular sockets and $4.88 for flex, iirc).

EDIT: tools with an asterisk in front were found by others in various other areas

These are NOT NECESSARILY MARKED. You can check them yourself on the in-store scanners or have them checked at the register, but I've checked samples at various stores and they seem to be at least area-wide.

I think you were doing a pretty good job of clearing them out before I got there . 7 mile/middlebelt was well labeled but picked over. It looks like the 'missing' pieces were the biggest 3/8 drive swivels, 3/4 and 19, and the 12 and 16 metric. 10, 13, 14, and 15 were all definitely not on clearance. They had a lot of polished flare wrenches, but they weren't marked and I couldn't find anyone to scan anything. Thanks again!

You'll still be able to go in there and order one, but you're pretty screwed if in the middle of a project.

The sockets they are clearing out so far look like very uncommon ones, so my guess is they are keeping open stock of your common sizes.

Well i just went on lunch and cleared out the Moreno Valley one.
They had 10mm and 14mm deep sockets. Those are pretty common sizes i think.
They didn't have any of the 3/4" drive stuff.
Looks like more and more stuff is being clearanced out.

Do what does everyone have extras? I tried to pick up a second of each one available in the event that others here missing one that I had and may have ones I need.

I was only able to get the swivels but would certainly like to complete the lineup.

I'm picking up a shovel today. Guess I should check the socket section as well.

I think a lot of us are buying these assuming that there will be no acceptable warranty replacement available in the future. A lot of bad things have happened and will, I'm sure, at Sears. Discussion about that is in many places on this forum.

We obviously can't stop that, but a set of US-made 6pt flex sockets for under $10 is a pretty good deal that likely won't ever happen again.

So, um... did you CHECK or just look for tags? And yeah - location wold probably save some people a trip if you actually scanned things.

nothing was marked at the 2 sears I was at you have to scan the item, I only found the other stuff because the lady game us the markdown list to shop from:rocker:

No, I asked the guy about it and he said there was no sale and even grabbed a lot of different things and had them check. They did have one item on sale and that was a 10mm full polish stubby which was sold out. My sears is a geographical oddity! :lol_hitti

This is amazing...I visited Sears sunday afternoon.. something told me to go. So I went.
Ok..I bought 2 of practically everything on the clearance rack. Swivel sockets, 8 pt sockets, .. i found 3/4" drive stuff on sale for half off, so I spent some cash. Even the stud remover was half off.

Can't quite figure out how to shrink pictures down..would attach.

The first rule of Hot Deals is not to ask employees. :lol_hitti

Seriously though, *I* had to explain to the one interested cashier how I found out about the prices. They had no clue (and most didn't care). If you are interested, take the list of what people have found (the first post) and check a few of those.

It seems more than regional so if you are going to a regular Sears in a mall, things should be clearance priced. I can't speak for "hometown" stores and I know that at least my Sears Hardware is slightly different. I haven't checked a Kmart or Ace (and we don't have OSH).

Keep me in the loop, I'll clear out 12 oaks for you! If you don't mind hanging onto that extra 19, we'll probably run into each other at some point again.

I hit the mother load! Total was $76. If anyone wants to do some trading, I'm looking for any sizes not shown in the picture and the FLARE NUT WRENCHES. I went to two sears stores and both had tons of USA flares, with not 1 on sale. They where $15-$22 EACH! That is what I really wanted the most. Also both stores had the 10, 13, 14 and 15mm 3/8" flex sockets but they where not on sale either.

Entire lot is Sold.

One of my local Sears (McKinley Mall) had some sockets marked $0.97, while the store at Galleria had nothing marked. The only 3/8 metric flex that came up was the 17mm, everything else was regular price. Don't really understand that one, will try more stores tomorrow.

The cashiers are weird. Had one experienced guy that has been working there for years punch in the part number for the 3/4 drive 1" socket 2 times because he couldn't believe the price. In a different store a kid rang up the 3 largest 3/4 drive sockets and he didn't even bat an eye.

I picked up 2 big gear wrenches yesterday at a standalone Sears for 1.97 each, but they did not have any flare nut wrenches. I stopped by the mall and the Sears there had the same gear wrenches, but rang up regular price. I also checked all the polished flare nut wrenches and they also rang up normal price. If anybody has or can get the flare nut wrenches, I will take them! SAE and Metric.

Yeah, i am curious too! I saw they had a few larger ratcheting gearwrenches but they were on security pegs so I didn't have them price checked but my craftsman set only goes up to 3/4 or 7/8 so I would like to add some larger wrenches.

I posted the Gearwrench sizes I got for $1.97/each. They were all over 3/4" that I bought, but a few metric and smaller sizes were marked down as well.

I believe the ones I got were 13/16, 7/8, 15/16, 1, 1 1/16, 1 1/8.

This was only at one Sears store. The other one I visited did not have them marked down and I scanned them.
