Hey folks,
My garage currently has 1 motorized bay, and two manual. I'm thinking of upgrading all three bays to motorized, but this brings me to a problem: I want a secure garage door opener.
I don't want one of the 'smart' garage doors that hook to phones. Partially because I dislike smart appliances, and their tendency to listen/spy/etc on the users, and partially because I don't trust them to be almost as easy to crack as the statically coded ones.
At the same time, I don't want one of the statically coded ones, for obvious reasons.
Has anyone found a garage door opener that actually seems to be secure against hacking?
I'm half-suspecting that my solution to this will be to homebrew something using a raspberry pi, but I wanted to ask first, in the hopes that maybe someone else had similar concerns to me.
