Hiring a rock hanger to do the ceiling in my garage. When he came to take measurements he said he'd just drop all the door rail supports and opener down, hang the 5/8" and bolt everything back up. All garage door components were just professionally installed a couple months ago. Will I need to make any adjustments after everything being lowered 5/8"?
Thanks

when I did my ceiling, I took several measurements of locations of screws etc, shortened everything by the thickness of the ceiling (5/8" T&G pine) so it hangs in the same place .

If the Rock Hanger operates the door both before and after he does his work, their should be no question as to the validity of his claims.

Drop a plumb bob from the end of each rail and make a mark on the floor so you can put 'em back in the place.

Take a bunch of pictures with a tape measurement in them. Will be real easy to place them back where there were.

Thanks for the replies. I will take some pics myself before and make sure he operates it first.
