I need to make a decision fairly soon. I have installed the Shield-Crete product from Costco on my floor. I know....I should have researched more before I decided on the product but I have what I have.
Now my goal is to make it last as long as possible. I have heard good and bad about putting a clear coat on top of epoxy i.e. Yellowing, chalking, etc...
I have the paint flecks in the epoxy coat as it sits now but I have not added the non-slip material.
Would you recommend a clear coat for my application or should I leave it as is? I worry that the floor will not clean up as easily if I do not put down the clear coat.
Any advice on the best clear coat --manufacturer for my product? Perhaps if I put down a superior topcoat, the floor will endure more over the years.
I did buy some acrylic clear glaze from the same manufacturer H & C Products. It says it is a low VOC, one component clear waterborne acrylic sealer. Doesn't sound too strong, durable to me.
Helpful advice sought at this time....thanks in advance.
