I'll be finishing up the roof underlayment this weekend on my 12x20 shed (6/12 roof) and then it's on to shingling, which I'm a little anxious about as I've never shingling before and in my research there seems to be 400 different ways of skinning that cat.
I already have the ridge vent cut out at the ridge. So do I simply shingle up to the vent on both sides, then cover it with the ridge vent (and of course shingle over the ridge vent)? Meaning the ridge vent will be tacked down on top of the shingles running up to the vent, correct?
I also hope to get my 1by fascia boards up this weekend as well so I can get the drip edge on as well. I planned on priming/sealing the 1by fascia boards before I install them. Do I just need to use a basic Kilz for this, or do I need something different? Thanks.
(This forum has been a life saver on this build. Wish I would have found it sooner!)
