Moving right along at a snails pace.
Passed the service trench inspection so backed filled it and placed the warning tape for next inspection.

The outlet boxes have all been de-foamed.
Trying to get plumbing done. Of course I didn’t do a 100% mock up and one section of PEX was a 1/2” short.

Could have finished it if A. had my decoupling tool or B. decided to lengthen the piece I only used clamps on. Option B hit me as I was closing up for the day. Clamps came off easy so….next trip.

Earlier in the week, I was able to put down two coats of sealer on half the floor.

Friday came down to put up some purlins. **** no power so I go to check the utility pole when I noticed the meter cover was leaning against the pole. A quick look over at the new pedestal, I didn’t see my cables. Woot woot, it’s been hooked up!!!!
It’s nice not having to work off a 100’ extension cord.

Figuring out the purlin process made for slow going. I did make two spacers to support the next row up but they didn’t like to stay in place so…..

Trudging along. If I do anymore screwing, I’ll have to get my acting card. More on that later.
I needed two more brackets to mount the other to warehouse pendant lights. I was thinking of using some 20 ga sheet metal but decided to use the scrap laptop shelf like last time. I can’t get a proper bend in my brake due to thickness so started the bend then used vise to squeeze it together followed by the BFH.

Well that didn’t work very well so I used the tubing and vise for the on one right.
Here’s the lights for south end of ceiling.

After cutting a piece of tin by eye, I decided to build a cutting jig for the other 42 cuts. Calling scrap pile.

This allows me to make consistent 48” on 97 1/2” long tin.

Trash can out feed 😜 the blue tub is screws used as counterweight.
Using some old metal disks in circular saw and only get 3 cuts per blade. Ratchet and socket made replacements a chore but impact gun, 15 seconds.

Another efficiency idea was switching to these bits. IMG_9508.jpeg
Easy to handle, fits in pencil pockets of carpenters belt.
#3 Phillips for wood to metal screws
#2 Phillips long deck screws or Sheetrock screws (framing, plywood)
T-20 short wood screws (plywood)
T-25 long wood screws. (Framing)
Got a lot done done. Framing done, major part of plywood up, half the tin cut, fridge, microwave , Bluetooth speaker hung and security set up.

Added another temp shop light (HF LED). Two of these do a pretty good job but I have other lights for permanent lighting.

Does anyone know of a retired finish carpenter with experience trimming around those angled brackets? 🤔

Shorty, not trying to be negative but Watt the flux? I was shocked to hear that Electrical Safety was next, it's positively out of phase with the specified frequency in the current Skool course catalog. Knowing the curriculum is well-grounded, I'm amped up over taking the class, but I have to draw the line at the course load this semester, it hertz to say this, but please relay my resistance to the appropriate contacts in your induction office. I remain laser-focused on graduating with minimal impedence, after we rectify this hysteresis in the course order.

Well the estimated 5 hr project to get the night light circuit installed is now on day 4. Supply issues, trying to figure it out, not having someone else do it and minor illness is causing delays. 🤔
Needed to fab up 4 more brackets so tried the assembly line process and used the press.

Are students required to wear shorts to your short course on shorts, Shorty?

Is financial aid available if I'm short of funds in the short term, but expecting my stock shorts to pay off shortly?

Shorts and Florida Safety Shoes are mandatory. Skirts are optional.

More progress. Finished up, flipped the breaker, and nothing ugh? I quickly remembered I probably didn’t finish the box above the light switch. Yep wires aren’t connected and I forgot the second to last leg of power (switch is last on the end of the circuit). Pulled and connected those, flipped the breaker and got one light, yay!!! Second light just needed the bulb backed off a hair. 3 lights still not working. Umm Next found a wire that backed out of the wire nut just enough. Got 4 lights!!!! Last was just a broken filament. All have been upgraded to matching led IMG_9687.jpeg
Also tested the process for installing the 8’ led strips. Went quite well. 6 more to go.

When operating a tractor always be aware. Moving materials can go from yes to no really quick…unless you’re properly trained on safety. IMG_9800.jpeg
Here’s a good example of not having proper counterbalance on the rear when lifting a load up front.
Just like any vehicle, proper tire pressure also reduces risk of accidents. Check your pressure often.
To safe yourself from back injuries, work smarter not harder.
