Been setting up the homestead.
IMG_3520.jpeg
When I put the septic system in, I had them install a lift pump for a RV. Unfortunately I wasn’t clear on location so they put it next to shop not road side of RV. Digging in clay isn’t fun.

And last, when in the country and want a hot tub…
IMG_1991.jpeg
The Camco portable on demand water heater is the bomb. The Mrs. and I tried it out tonight. Awesome under the stars.
Hopefully get started on the house in next 30 days.

Just a bunch of miscellaneous things and still moving stuff out of the house.
When testing the lift pump before backfilling, oh ****.
IMG_2006.jpeg
Thankful the manufacturer replaced it.
I did some basic cleaning and paint stripping on the tubs exterior. I want to sand bast it but for now, primer and paint.
IMG_2062.jpeg
Looking at the stamping, the tub appears to be casted in 1903 or 1911. Company closed in 1929.
When a 30x50 shop, a 40’ container, a 12x20 portable carport and two self storage units aren’t enough, get another carport.
IMG_2123.jpeg
Three storage cabinets and two Vidmar cabinets that are still in house garage will be stored here along with parking for the tractor.

And who said keeping junk doesn’t pay off. A scrap of plywood from the whse shop demo in 2011 became 3 shelves for a garden closet.
The jig saw and router cabinets don’t shelves so found these out back.
IMG_2140.jpeg
I think they came from the gas pump I scraped. After cutting to length and bending a matching flange on the cut end, a shelf…like it was made for cabinet.
IMG_2139.jpeg
I since this worked, I’ll use the other pieces to make more shelves.
We ended the day relaxing in the tub, looking at the stars. IMG_3923.jpeg

The two fence post and a tarp has to go. The breeze and wind gets strong at times so something more permanent.
IMG_2194.jpeg
I did the fence section and the wife did everything else. Definitely much nicer.
Wasn’t a great place to put a bar of soap so whipped this up out of aluminum fascia material.
IMG_2233.jpeg
It’s self supporting, no screws and the top is angled to keep rain off the shelf.
IMG_2234.jpeg
While digging the hole for the fence corner post,I found water 😟. Tracing where the water was leaking from, I found the leak being the shop supply line but up underneath the slab. Ugh. 😩
IMG_2164.jpeg
New plan included a shut off valve outside the building. Used a valve box and a piece of an AC duct to access it.
IMG_2166.jpeg
Came up the outside wall then inside. Did everything in PEX and even have a coil going up to run to other corner and the bathroom sink so that’s a positive for the leaking pipe project. The removable panels made it easy.

Still trudging a long with various projects. Installed outdoor outlets for the RV lift pump and the septic pump. Which eliminates one of two extension cords.
IMG_2334.jpeg
IMG_2335.jpeg
Finished emptying the garage at old house so need (my wife) more space. This lead to working on walling off the loft.
IMG_2353.jpeg
And setting up the shelves I used at whse loft. Repurpose, reuse, recycle.
IMG_2358.jpeg
This freed up floor space and some items found the trash can.

Ok which one of you guys left the freezer door opened?

To cold to do much but doing something. Oil pressure was showing 0 psi but luckily no lifter rattles. To R&R sensor, they say remove the intake? Remove the intake!!!
Thanks to Bob (bore scope) and YouTube (tips) I was able to replace. IMG_2421.jpeg
Lost count on the number of WTF and f@$#%.

Picked up a half price hand truck so moved the hot tub heater over to it.
IMG_2424.jpeg
Filled in the axle area with sscrap wood to hold bottles of bubble bath. IMG_2422.jpeg
The place I got the hand truck, had these portable ping pong tables.
IMG_2430.jpeg
Decided the base could be a nice saw horse.

The last few weeks have been cold rain on Saturday, thaw out on Sunday. Yesterday we were blessed with this weird stuff.

IMG_2604.jpeg
Power went out at 3am. This morning
IMG_2606.jpegIMG_2612.jpeg
Decided to drive into town
IMG_2613.jpeg
And ended up taking this beautiful picture.
IMG_2616.jpeg
Now finish out the week with sunny but temps 20° below average. GW is real. 🤔

With the nice weather, energized to get out and knock some projects off the list. First up, cutting up some of leftover Christine so I can haul it to the scrapyard.
IMG_2716.jpeg
Also spent an hour or two troubleshooting which septic tank item was popping the GFCI outlet. First checked that the outlets were ok. There’s three cords. I found The culprit. I think it’s the pump to the drain field. Installer said the pumps are know to trip GFCI outlets.
Next up was temporarily wire up a dryer outlet. The RV’s all in one washer-dryer, washes ok but drying takes forever. I think it’s made to only handle my Speedo. The new dryer works great.
Finding a spot for the new dryer (and store the washer) resulted in shop Tetris. This forced me to do some clean up 👍.
My old 15 yo cordless impact is on it last leg so Santa delivered some new tools. They’ve been laying on the bench, so I put up my drill holder.
IMG_2721.jpeg
I’ve got to find the matching holder so I have a place for the 18v.
Got on the tractor and move one stump and branches to the burn pile. Surprised at the number of 3-4” diameter branches the snow/ice brought down.
The most important task was this….
IMG_2725.jpeg
Now where is the TV?
Sore and pulled muscles I soaked in the outdoor tub, looking at the beautiful moon and stars. Relaxing.
And for your viewing pleasure, an early ad release of Shorty’s Florida Safety Shoe new Spring apparel.
