Some self-etching primer and some silver paint the part is almost ready for installation. I used spring clamps to hold it in place while I drilled the first hole. I then used clecos to hold it in place. I've only had these clecos for 10 yrs but I knew I would need them one day.

For safety purposes I did put a small wood block underneath where I was drilling. Clecos are my new best friend, along with the body saw and ,,,,, Anyway, you will notice that there isn't a lip closes to us. Because of my mis-measurement, I couldn't have a lip there but I still integrated that side into the rest of the piece for support.

The finished product!!! I used rivets to hold the lip in place and I used reusable plastic screw rivets to hold the access hatch to the lip. Works great. I still want to get a push in body faster to fill the drill hole. After the pump gets installed, I have the option to spray bed liner, use tape or caulk the joint.

Another addition will be a piece of diamond plate from the back of the front seats all the way to the back. That is a future project though.

Someone been feeding you red bull or something :lol_hitti

Glad to see you have something to keep your mind occupied and not dwelling on some green Listas in the south.

Near trick on the fuel pump replacement, Ill always do something like that before dropping the tank. Thank God for YouTube.

No Red Bull, just the Dr., Dr. Pepper.

Nope, no dwelling on green Listas. I've been eyeing these. Blue matches what I have a lot better. LOL

Interesting on the fuel pump replacement. I have the same problem with my Camaro. Guys have done the same as you, but on the Camaro things are a little tighter. Right were a cut needs to be there are fuel hoses right underneath. I am going to just drop my tank as I don't want a hole cut in it. But I am going to upgrade to a Walbro fuel pump and upgraded fuel pump harness for only $250 for everything and it works with the factory bucket. It also is good for 700hp.

Definitely see where my solution doesn't fit all applications. I can imagine most thing are tight on the Camero. Send the Olds down and I'll be happy to install an unnecessary access hatch in it.

You know you will probably hate me for this but I would love to sell the Olds. It just doesn't do anything for me. If it was a 442 or better yet a Chevelle I would be totally siked about it. But since my loving wife helped her Dad buy it and it was one of the last things he did. I am going to be stuck with that car forever. HA

May not believe this but Dad had s black Aztek. Called it Black Beauty. He's owned Caddys, Lincolns, Imperials, Mercedes and Jags and was impressed with the features the Aztek had. He also drove it because his back wouldn't ache after driving for an hour.

Shorty good to see you getting back into it, now I need to get some clecos - they look like a handy bit of kit.

Glad you guys are fighting over the Listas cause then I know my Wall of Craftsman is safe. I just have to worry about GB. LOL

Gerard you will be happy to know that I found this morning (well when I woke up in the middle of the night) that there are some lista cabinet guys over here. Although I don't expect to be asking for a price anytime soon...

Cheers GB.

Well Shorty, I've infiltrated everyone else's thread, I guess it's time to stick my nose into yours too.

I see Gerard isn't the only member who has "a wall" of boxes. I also see (and already knew) that your taste is a little different from red and grey. I hope you don't mind if I join in here with the rest of you guys.

Thank you for stopping in. May not be as exciting as others but I'm trying. So I'm not disowned I do have some red & grey. :)

Since we follow quite a few of the same excellent threads, till then.

Ok I need some professional assistance here.

Where to spend resources:
A: pouring thicker pad for 15 month old uninstalled MaxJax lift sitting on thin concrete.
B: Listen to two birds trying to get me to buy a CL item that matches an existing tool cabinet.

Voting starts now*

*C: all of the above is NOT a valid answer.

B. Let me explain B. I saw a nice cabinet that matched one he has. I told him its a good deal and then sell off non matching cabinets.

I agree that he could always get pad done but deals on CL come few and far between sometimes. Here's the cabinet.

B, as these cabinets don't happen much here, in great shape and a good price.
And I agree about getting the money on the non matches, though there's the risk of it not selling right away.

I also understand needing to finish the lift, as I had to finish my roof project and not able to get more toys.

I would take the chance and buy it, and then maybe you would quit lusting after mine.:lol_hitti
And I would feel comfortable having you over for:beer:

Ok so shorty you are going for the wall of Stanley/vidmar ? They look like nice cabinets too having just had a quick look at the Google pics.

Does that mean CB will have the wall of lista ?

If they are hard to come buy as you guys suggest then I can vote B instead.

Cheers GB.

Oh now there's a C.? Hmmmm it's a upgrade but not by much. Do you have that compressor maxed out on rpm and pullie size?

20 gallons is a considerable upgrade in air storage.

It'll permit him to quickly sand down and paint suspect.. Err new cabinets.:D

Some of the rich south Floridians think us redneck Floridians have limitless funds. :bounce:
Stewart, this rich South Floridian had my Nigerian Prince friend exchange my very limited number of dollars for vast numbers of Chinese Yuans and Indian Rupees. Maybe he can help you out as well.:rocker:

You may have seen his get rich quick advertisement: "I upped my Income, Now Up Yours!"

I want people to be green with envy at my wall of Lista.

Man, I need to get that blue paint on, get it inside and stack so much **** on them you'll lose interest.

There really not that great. All the bearings need cleaning and lubed. That's SEVENTEEN drawers worth of bearings.
And the dividers all need to be cleaned and painted, each drawer has dividers spaced FOUR inches apart. That's a lot of dividers.
The drawers are mostley SHALLOW, so there only good for smaller sorting of tools, drill bits and such.
And there only bench height, your into the tall ones.
