Now I have a 28' ladder and two 13' (2x12) boards I have to deal with. I didn't feel like storing them in the loft areas since I really, really need to organize the lofts. Looking at different spots and ideas, I decided the bridge would be a great spot. A couple of 2x4's in each open area and the ladder and boards are stored. Picture is before deciding to put the boards there.

If anyone is in need of a bunch of 2x12x24" threads, call me. :headscrat

Guess I should of finished reading:lol_hitti

Wow, Shorty. This is a dang photo album. So you set your camera on "Blink" mode and took a picture every time you blinked?

Lotsa nice photos. Good to see that your shop is going airborne. That just leaves more room for heavy stuff on the floor.

I really like the bath board you made for the wife. I need to find some of those hammers for my collection. When you sell the project car it will make room for the Olds. It is for sell now.

I'm surprised I got something done. I'm not sure about up a rung but thanks. I climb a lot of rungs.

Hi Shorty
I should be in the rack now, but I wanted to catch up with you.
It's been since December. And after reviewing the last 3 pages Id say you have been keeping yourself busy.
I envy you Florida guys Getting together and swapping stuff

Good luck getting your garage in shape But remember it's never done

Don
Thank you for taking the time to catch up. I've got to take you're and 1/2 Cup's lead and get busy. We have some great members here in Florida. If they aren't making you smile, they're passing along great leads. When you pick the Vette up, I can introduce you to everyone.

It all looks good Shorty.

Thanks and thank you for the ladder, so much better.

Shorty, shop is looking great. I can't wait to see it in a month.

Looking for to your visit. Bring work clothes. :lol_hitti

I've learned if there's no pictures, it didn't happen. Hopefully I can get to some real projects real soon. Don't forget, your welcome to stop in anytime.

My wife loved it. Not as nice as what you would build but I'm learning.
Gerard (Taumac) introduce me to those hammers. Old school cool and versatile.

Don't even tease me about the Olds. Serious? Saturday, I looked at a 76 Cutlass S. I like the slant nose and I took Drivers Ed in a 76 Cutlass Supreme. I mentioned the car to my wife and she said "What do we need that for". Now if your Cutlass is available, I'm sure I can convince her since it's the right year.

Work clothes? OK I'll help you out for a few hours. Check out the place, change up the layout, and beers at Hooters. Sounds like a plan.

I'm not sure but that looks a lot like the van that belong to the T-man. He used it to transport one of the fab four at a time. Where did you get it Shorty? Please don't tell me from the Tampa area. Are there any odd smells in it? Are the rear springs shot?

Dan you are correct, I believe it did came from the Tampa area. Who also lives in the Tampa area and has been in Tampa's van? That would be Mr. G.

I think I heard his wife call him sporty shorty once or maybe it was, shucks he's short. I don't know, I'm half deaf. :lol_hitti I think G is the limo driver while Tampa is entertaining in back.

I don't really know why I haven't been posting anything. I have been busy keeping up with everyone else though. I guess you all tire me out with all that you get done.

I believe I mentioned My mom has moved from her townhouse to a retirement apartment. The last two weekends have been spent moving, getting her set up and sorting through the stuff she will put up for sale.

Mom asked be if I could take some links out of her watch and I said, "Sure!" I'm either getting weaker or the link pins are getting harder to push out. Usually I can push them out freehanded using a paperclip. Not this one. I decided to go to shop where I had tools. Even using pliers to hold paperclip, it was a no go.

A light went off in the dense fog and I came up with my next invention, a watch band holder. A table saw quickly put the band trough, and the DP punched the holes. The holder was to long fit the band around so I used the bandsaw to shorten both ends so band would fix. Worked like a charm and Mom is happy.

Now for anyone wanting their very own version of the Shorty Shed Watch Band Holder, they are only $4.95 plus shipping and handling. But wait, if you order in the next 5 minutes you get two Band Holders! Please send cash.

The enablers have been at work again. I believe Gerard is the one that found the ad for matching Vidmar storage cabinets and "just" had to share it with Craig and I. We first weren't interested since it didn't have drawers and only two shelves. As the minutes ticked by, I started thinking it would be a good cabinet for bulky tools like my chainsaw, Sawzall, and portable bandsaw. I guess the espn was transmitting because Craig texted and asked it I would be interested in one of the cabinets. I said yes. Turns out we were thinking the same thing. Craig got a good price on the cabinets, picked them up and even delivered mine to the shop. I did provide dinner at Hooters.

Back on post 915, I mentioned I was being gerarded. Along with cleaning up things, I moved cabinets all around. I'm wanting to get this area clear so I can use it.

First order of busy was to move the drafting table to the mezzanine and slide the tall gray cabinets closer to the front. Since the front bay is only 15' wide, these 18" deep cabinets would not block the bay as bad as having the 28" tool cabinets there.

Second order was to move the tool cabinets out of the office (pic 3). When the tall gray cabinets where in there, it felt closed in. The tool cabs helped but made for a narrow thoroughfare. With the new cabinet from Craig, I determined the function of each cabinet and worked on a new layout. The Coke machine was always destined for the office (post-restro) but to get the area cleaned out, I move it along with the Dr. Pepper chest (pic 4). I like the office arrangement a lot better now.

With the gray cabinets moved out of the way, I discovered a hydraulic press that's been buried for a couple of years. While the press was accessible, I put some casters on it. The legs got tweaked when working on my front end, so press needs work too. Project 932.

The blue bin sitting across from the press is one of two elephant in the room. I'm trying to get it moved out. It is a parts bin from the GM assembly plant in Atlanta and is about 5'x5'. Hopefully I have it sold as a scrap metal recycling bin.

With the new to me cabinet here, time to get them all lined up. Left to right, auto tools, nut/bolt hardware, larger hardware (electric, plumbing, etc), power tools/supplies and last the bulky power tools. The tools cabinets will be converted to the green like the Equipto. The plan is to make a bench where the short hardware cabinet and open spot is. Jim Reed just provided me with a solid core door that will probably work perfect.

Here is everything in place. I think once the area is cleaned out it will be great. Look forward to getting the huge elephant (Christine) moved to where the blue bin is.

Note: Gerard is due here for inspection the end of the month so all is subject to change. :lol_hitti

Shorty, you know you shouldn't feel that bad. You got off easy compared to Craig. LOL. Now that I filled his shop don't worry yours is next. I'll find you a 7 drawer matching cabinet soon.

A big benefit to my cleaning/rearranging spree is I found some goodies. I thought my DA had walked off but found in a file cabinet I used at the pawn shop. Go figure. To many quick moves in the last 15 years.
I also found some of my Texaco marketing stuff. The filter and pump are AM/FM radios. Project 976, put up shelves in office for these items.

I see the light! I see the light! Thanks for following along.

Man its really good to see you getting stuff done. Yes the enablers have been at work. I can't help it if I find good deals and just happen to past them along. LOL.

Do you have some shelves in office that you can display some of you collectables? We did see some nice cases and displays at Flywheelers that would be nice way to display your items.

Stewart, that's an amazing offer and I would jump on it if I hadn't already purchased a watch repair kit. I bought it the day after my wife paid Sears $15 to change the battery in her $10 watch. I used to go to a very quiet place far from delicate ears to shorten watch bands and take bezels off because no one wants to hear that much cursing. I don't think it's significantly easier for a two-handed person but I could be wrong. I invested the cost of one battery swap in a watch repair kit. Soon after I bought the kit I had to buy a collection of spring bars (pins?) for re-attaching the watch band I ripped off in the garden. A huge collection was less than $5.

Amazon sells a kit that includes the spring bars for a similar total:

Good bit of progress shorty. Cool hammers.

Have fun Gerarding. Remember photos at hooters or it didn't happen :pimpflash

GB

I'm working on it. You all are keeping motivated. I'm pleased how the hammers have turned out. I've even used one all ready.
Hopefully, this Sunday's trip to Hooters will produce a picture or two.

Great stuff!

Thank you. The clamp storage is actually a book shelf that was the door to the bathroom of the original loft. Not sure why the guy wanted to hide the bathrooms. It was an interesting use of space though. I have two and since they are narrow, I didn't know what I was going to do with them. A brain fart later, I will mount them back to back and on casters. Instant free mobile clamp cart.

Yes, my wife loved it, especially since it was a surprise and I made it. You are correct, it's little things like this that makes a wife heart swoon.

Wow Shorty, you've been on a tear. I miss a week or two and you wake up and get a ton of things done. I'm impressed. ( I didn't want you to think I wasn't watching)

More of a toot than a tear. :lol_hitti

Wow!!!
After all that my head is spinning.
