Hey Shorty, those radios are cool. If you ever decide to get rid of them keep me in mind.:lol_hitti I like them both but the 'fire chief" pump one is awesome. I've never seen one before.

My apologies. I've been busy with my mom's downsizing/estate sale and moving pieces back and forth from her house and apartment.
So here is the plan that Gerard proposed. Instead of helping, he wanted to go to Hooters then head home. Now I'm stuck with doing all the work. c0b1eed052551cdc27ef94d196841544.jpg

That looks like a plan. Not a good plan, but a plan none the less.

"Plan your work, work your plan" maybe your plan needs to be worked more:willy_nil

I had to take good notes. A lot of changes. LOL. Since Mr. Gerarding aka efficiency expert is next door in Brooksville, I'll seen him over.
All kidding aside, Gerard did come up with a idea that I wouldn't have come up with. Once the SL gets painted, the changes will begin.

Thank you for that. People think I'm crazy ( well that's true to a point ) and I think once you FINALLY draw it up and explain it a lot of people will understand it. [emoji482]

Thanks Andy. I slaved over drawing up that plan for 2 days....I mean seconds. Since you have your helper and 1/2 cup doing the sanding and the bull taking care of business, do you have time? :lol_hitti

I do need to draw it to scale, add labels and complete a project stage list.

Your layout looks identical to my and CBacres set up. I guess we all subscribe to Billy's (Family Circle comic) process. Classic!

Yeah, when Shorty came over, I noticed he was able to manuver around my shop with ease.
When I visited his shop, I understood why.

Hey Shorty, have you noticed every time we go to G's, it's tore apart in a mess? Think he's paying tribute to us?:lol_hitti

I wouldn't call it paying tribute to you guys but I would call it trying to make you guys feel little bit more at home LOL

And this is why you guys start out with 5" casters and a few years down the road they are 2" casters.:lol_hitti

And the blueprints for the moving is just awesome. With all that "detailed" planning I understand why you guys keep moving things around.:lol_hitti:willy_nil

Back on post 943 (Apr. 17) I had started the Gerarded plan. Part of that was to move this big blue parts bin from the back of all the other stuff blocking everything. I also wanted to put the non-functioning order picker where the bin was sitting.

Getting ready for my mom's estate sale/garage sale changed all those plans. We did have a successful sale but boy she had a lot of stuff hidden away. Ended up having another sale the following weekend. Between work and working on her house, I have been as useless as a *** on a boar hog.

This morning I was at her house trying to finalize getting the last remaining stuff out. I got most of it to the garage then realized, since it is going to my shop, I need to make some room. Off to the shop I went for QST. Almost everything that needed moving was on wheels so moving was easy. Probably the first time in 3 years I've seen this part of the floor.

While thinking about moving the order picker, I had the rare brain fart :headscrat. At 2 tons, it actually is kind of easy to push (sans flat spot on wheel). The problem has been steering. In the past, I would use a long 1-1/2" round bar to pry the hydraulic wheel the direction I wanted to go. A lot of work and the wheel would straighten up as you pushed.

The brain fart, why not hook the steering motor up to a battery, turn it and go? Reverse polarity to go the other direction. Worked like a charm. Did have to turn it around which involved a 9 point turn. I parked it so I can still get to the electrical and motors for future troubleshooting.

With the order picker placed, everything was moved back. I put the stuff that needs to good out the door up front and stacked some of the other stuff so I freed up space. Sure doesn't look like any progress but I feel great about getting it rearranged.

Getting the 14 dr Vidmar (with 7 shallow drawers) I decided it will be the hardware cabinet instead of the short Lista. The Lista will be the base for a bench DP. I had time so I started moving the hardware bins to the Vidmar.

The inside dimension on the Lista is 24" square. The Vidmar is about 25" square. The Schaller bins fit the Lista perfect. Using the dividers, they took up the slack left to right but I still had an inch or so in back. Another brain fart (I'm on a roll), let's use my little bench top brake and some scrap. I really like how the spacer turned out.

Still having some time and cleared out drawers in the Lista, let's move all the drill bits and related stuff to the Lista. My DP stand for the last 16 years has been my drafting cabinet I used in the late 80's. I know, you are probably thinking I must have started when I was 3 yrs old. :wtf:

Top drawer-regular, step and masonry bits.
Second drawer-paddle bits, drill indexes and misc.
Third drawer-hole and forstner sets

Again, happy that I'm moving forwards.
