That's a handcuff, Shorty. And I'm sure Liane keeps them.

all three tools are new to me thanks to the FC enablers. I forgot but I did get the wiring finished on sander. Works great. I do need to separate the dusty tools (sander, grinders) from the lathe. Well done getting the lathe in place without any visible injury that you admitted Shorty.

Now you just need to do something about all the sharp objects - have you considered heat-shrink tubing on all the blades?

Just so long the lathe is fine!
Hope the plastic cocoon kept it safe.
Looks like it will be a nice addition to the shed.
Shorty's Shed, huh? More like Shorty's Uptown Shop O'tools.

Uptown? You live uptown. I’m just lowly east side. lol. I’m having a sell and I notice some free space in your garage the last time over.

Say!
That lathe looks awfully familiar!
This one was built in 1984 and has been in my college shop since new. Not a lot of hours, but a bit of student abuse, for sure. Still a nice little lathe.

Did you get the tailstock with yours?
Edit: And be safe! Michael looks mean!

First, thank you all for your concern. Luckily for Tallahassee, things were more like a strong tropical storm. We lost power for a day...
No damage other than some warm beers. Good news Shorty!
Be careful with the pressure washer on the lathe. Unless you are doing a complete rebuild you may get water into expensive headstock bearings and other places where it will pool and rust things. If I recall that gearbox has oil in it and the top lifts up so not sealed. Same with the saddle gearbox which is partially open in the back. Next I'd be worried getting water in the motor too.
It's been forever since I played doctor.
Neighbor girl asked if I wanted to play doctor when we were about ten.
I said sure.
After waiting two hours in her waiting room I went and found a ball game.
Shorty your lathe looks pretty similar to mine only yours is miles ahead in appearance.![]()
shortykorte,
Glad to hear that things were not too bad in your part of the world.
Best regards,
Scott

Shorty, Glad to hear from you and that you came through alright.
I'll take a look through the archives. I may well have a manual for the lathe and would be happy to send you a copy if I find it.
This one has all of the attachments as well, some of them look like they haven't been used.
Yet.
I'm trying to talk the powers that be into selling me this one. It would fit in my garage very nicely.
I've been to a few Buffett concerts, always a good time, but the parking lot party before the show is usually the best part!
I hope to be a Floridian Parrrothead at some point soon!
