If my wife had her way, she'd own two pairs of shoes, hiking boots (for winter) and running shoes. She's bare foot most of the time. I have to admit, she looks really good in hiking boots and a long skirt, in an eclectic sort of way.

She likes her shoes like I like my shop stuff. Luckily we both are cheap, so only buy on sale, used or good deals.
Growing up in BFE West Virginia, she didn’t have a lot. She has worked hard to move up in her career and likes to look stylish but is still all West Virginia mountain girl.
The cost of the lathe probably equals about half of what she has in all those shoes so I can’t complain.

Wait! Shoes always come in pairs, so if you're going to stay up you need to get duplicates of all your tools.
Sounds fair to me at least.

 Perfect little lathe to go with his big one and save setup time!

Do you have Shorty's credit card so you can just go ahead and buy it. I'm sure he would want you to.

I’m taking this week off to catch up with projects. Between enablers and hurricanes, no QST. Since I have a bad case of ADD, I started a task list. Since Andy numbered his task, I figured I’d do him one better and list mine my day/time. d243054eff6616379be1eacc1b678930.jpg
Friday afternoon plans were changed to help a friend set up a generator to run his house. Wrapping that project up, his neighbor asked if he could trim some branches to a tree that fell over the drive. Her horse died and she called for a dozer. While helping, I decided to do another safety tip. TIP: when stepping backwards, know if there’s a curb and a ditch. 06e165e761b3b4434abdcd7b730c4f44.jpg I’m just glad I had on a pair of FSSF.
Saturday I was up and at it, working the list. I finished task 1 & 2. Warning: painting involved. 3432ff380480598deab2288f383d3aa8.jpg this is a scarf/belt rack to go with shoe rack. I did use the new lathe....to sand a stick. b7510c098addcde24c3b7144f2a73dee.jpgThe other was a simple box to increase height of puppy steps.
On schedule, I started on the pex airlines. d93daefd068bee8605ded1eb67043007.jpg78c470b16e6cc237383f097553aed38c.jpg. I finished running the lines, but came up one elbow short. One line is a dedicated line for paint. The other is for two hose reels. On the way home, I picked up the elbow so will finish tomorrow along with putting the insulation back along with the drop ceiling tiles. Tip 2: wear a mask when working with insulation.
I’m hiding the lines because it’s easier install. Uh?????
With family in town, today’s schedule was a bust. Nice weather is in the forecast so I’ll see how the week plays out.

Steve, Lyndon, if you get bored while on holiday, stop by.

Great safety tip.

You set yourself up for failure when you assign days and times for tasks. And you succeeded!

one tip, don't run your air lines over the insulation. They will freeze and plug up when you need them most.:headscrat At least the PEX won't break.

Damn P word. Hell I was just on vacation for a week and accomplished really nothing. That's ok any day not working sitting in garage is better than at work.

Thankfully the schedule is open for interpretation. Lol. I did it this way so I had some semblance of what I might get finished.
Great tip on the freezing air lines. Never would have realized that. Thankfully Floridians don’t have to worry about that (generally). The office is completely inside the shop and I used insulation from the original demo to keep the office cooler in summer.

I was remembering a joke a Russian friend told me (In Moscow during Soviet times).

During the six day war the Egyptian Generals were consulting their Russian advisors as Israel was pushing them back to the Red Sea. What do we do, they said? The Russian advisor said "We'll beat them like we beat the Germans, fall back, fall back, and wait for the frost."

The Russians are coming!
Being prior military, that Russian/Egyptian joke is military intelligence at its finest.

Making progress on the list.

After the fence, I ran some errands only to find out I need idler and pitman arms. Where am I going to fit that project in?
Went back to shop to finish the pex only to find out I didn’t get any elbows. Errrrr! Decided to finish the dedicated electrical line to lift. Nope, don’t have all the parts. Well, let’s hook the hose reels to the pex. Nope the parts I have won’t let me swivel the hose on. I guess I **** at material takeoff and/or planning.
Just left the store with a bunch of parts. Fingers crossed.

I really hate when I don't have everything I need to finish a project. I hope the store is closer for you than my 25 minute drive. :(

Hopefully you didn't forget the beer:beer::beer:

Glad to see you're getting something done, even if out of sequence .

Thanks. Making it progress.

I often procrastinate on thinking through what ALL will be needed. At last house, store was right around the corner so I was spoiled. Now, not so convenient.

The list is moving along but with some hurtles. Honey-dos and unexpected items have delayed things.
The good news is the air lines and the lift circuit is done. To help with access to the main panel, I cut an access hole. 1b13b04ac75f40a13a9b4e71a313ea6f.jpg There’s a lot of room for growth so this will make things easier. A stop sign or tin sign will make a nice cover.
Since I didn’t schedule anything for Thursday through Sunday so anything I do is a win-win. [emoji12]295c279d07ad9d5c9b0540bc499fca7f.jpg

Andrew, I was thinking the same, or that there’s just no good pictures of him getting shocked and/or said electrical shock jarred his memory!:lol_hitti

Replacing that drywall is a good idea, it's your fire protection. You might try to find an electrical box of the same size and use that, where you can pull it if you need the access.

Good point. I cut the drywall out with a oscillating multi tool so the piece I pulled out can be reused and fit tight.

More progress, however small. Errands in the morning and a long lunch limited shop time.
I finished up the outlet for the reel cord. I install one of the 8’ fluorescent lights I had leftover from original demo. I took a scrap MC housing to bridge the gap between lights. I thought I was about a 1/2” long but my luck, I came up shorty. 562f0416eab07d9cb3feeff7e7de63e5.jpg. To hold the light and keep it level, I screwed in a 2x as a ledger, slid light over and wa-la! Done. f18f5ae071235feec19c4c2576bddabf.jpg
This picture captures several things I’ve worked on. The yellow is the circuit and outlet for the MaxJax. The others are the new light, the pex air line and the start of the J trim for the metal ceiling panels. All without bloodshed. [emoji16]9f1fb012a02a91e0ea68fc781d25ed0d.jpg

Wasn't that Mitch Medford with the electric muscle car? Haven't seen much of him recently.

You're right, good catch. And I hope one of these days I can learn to proof read before I hit the enter button. I just read what I typed.:wtf:
