Ok, ok. Here’s what happened.
For those that have been to my shop, you’ve seen the coffee cafe next door.
As mentioned I was wearing shorts and flops when the fire broke out. As Craig stated, I ran out front to the water hose. Instead of a kindergarten bus, there was a drove of sweat looking FSU coeds that saw me, and attacked me like I was Fabian. Being a honorable husband, I had to beat them off with a stick, hence law enforcement getting involved. Honest injun.

I think I need to ditch this nippy weather and move down to Florida, where all the action is. Hooter's, kindergarten kids, fire, police. Sounds like a fun place to be.

Just remember, unlike Vegas, what happens in Florida does not stay in Florida--it makes the national news.

I think i'll just hang here in So. Cal. where it never rains except for tomorrow.

Except for some of the politics and the taxation, I don’t blame you. Sounds like I need to add weather mitigation facilities to my future safety inspection list. The way it’s going, I’ll probably be stuck at your place for a good week trying to knock a proper inspection.

Here I sit all broken heart....selling tools.
Actually freezing but freeing up about 12 sq. ft of floor space and getting cash for tool upgrades. Was able to get a good Ribeye instead of being stuck with Krystal burger. Hopefully tomorrow the crowd will be bigger and flush with cash.

Nothing like freeing up space and cash to boot. I'd taking the Krystal burger, none of them here, plenty of steakhouses.:lol_hitti

Dang! I just left. I'd have hung around if you'd let on you were having a fire sale.

Don't worry, there'll be another fire.:lol_hitti

What's new Shorty?

Well ****, I thought I’d get by without posting all my tremendous progress the last two months.
Following up with Saturday at the swap meet, this is what we woke up to. ae646b8b63700bec9101c8318f464957.jpg Thankfully our spot was on concrete and the sun came quickly. Finished up with less stuff and new parts to future projects 649506f160550194f8aff43615a41e6b.jpg
Installed a doggy door and worked on the garage workbench. Had another enjoyable trip to Florida Flywheelers. One display was a collection of wood toys. A lot of cool things from a master craftsman. 7950c339c03b053d0567ae426758b641.jpg1c025ffcbfa4af44a484855c09207b84.jpg Another building had a nicely detailed diorama of an Oliver tractor machine shop4fac49dca677c68a187dee6aa9342276.jpg. To end the day, we grilled, had a couple of cold ones while enjoying a Florida sunset. 873c4f746ec3cc4b1a64e475068e26ed.jpg
While most of y’all have been knocking projects out in a timely fashion, I’ve taken the “yes it did take that long” approach. I installed a better tv antenna at shop, switch out the vintage SO box for the HF service cart. 8848a40dfdb6b4b5a1036f6c68f31349.jpg The service cart is just a nice cart to roll around. To make it better than its last time in the shop, I’ve added the flip up side shelf, a rack on back for pry bars and a fabbed up a drawer tray. 1eb94d3c12a84b2ec884596387de883b.jpg. Still need to rivet in the angle for the tray to slide on. Finally using the Powermatic bandsaw to cut metal was sweet.
I’m also working on the bucket of rusty tools. One item was a bunch of clecos. 9fe6f6f322c10726601339687d5e5f9c.jpg. Polished up the the stand and soaked the clecos in vinegar. e87d96910ddd9c041d7356aa564b77e7.jpg650029c28377501c28eb81af0e0da0ca.jpgf3b922b0a84d98611800914196dab2e2.jpg

Another long awaited project was the blade guide for an old bandsaw.

Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app9d45b618205be5d548f0eced5632fc02.jpg Being pot metal, I wanted to make one out of steel, hence the delay. This month I decided to learn Autodesk Fusion 360. While learning, it was brain fart time, 3d print the guide bracket. 8b9db9c800cc4bd03406c105428d35c1.jpg Also helps when you know someone with a 3d printer. Thanks John M. c8ba4e91594977de2ae3fa85c1f7196c.jpg works like a charm. I think the new bracket will hold up better than the original.
One last triumph was the motor to famous two piece vintage Craftsman DP from two or three years ago. cfbfc8c57d3471b7f85628654cbf6be8.jpg Has you can see, the old wiring isn’t the best, so new wiring is a must. 679d23f4866e3e95cf87a97e206a01ea.jpg Surprisingly, it works. It will be nice to get the DP off the bench and in service after so long.
And miracles never cease... abf69f79f82960ef0d6c8554914b4db4.jpg some sanding on the SL actually happened.

Great update!

Decided to learn Fusion 360. Tall order. Indeed. And you succeeded!

Is that an ABS guide? Or PLA?

Mail me one made out of foam and I'll mail you an aluminum one back. Or brass.

Polished up the the stand and soaked the clecos in vinegar.

Thanks for sharing the wood toy collection. That scale machine shop is awesome!

I've had good luck recently with vinegar dissolving rust in a motorcycle tank. I added a cup of salt to each gallon of vinegar to supposedly boost its effectiveness. 48 hour soak time seemed like the sweet spot for this thin walled tank.

Andy, I think he said it was PLA. Trust me, my first thought was, Andy could cast one. Then I thought of 3d printing. I’ll take you up and make a foam model and send to you.

Thanks for the nomination. I’d unfortunately lose out to the many doers on GJ that are worthy of the Little Don award.

Thanks for stopping in Steve. If you read all that, you must be feeling ok. Lol.

Mark, that is just a portion of the toys. Flywheelers might be a interesting family day trip especially the village.
On the vinegar, I’ve been soaking 24hr +/- . Some definitely needed a lot longer. Didn’t think about using for gas tank rehab. Thanks!!!!

We were starting to wonder if you had both arms in a cast or something! But looks like you were just too busy having fun. Those clecos came out nice. A debur wheel or polish mop should buff them up nicely.

Good job getting to grips with Fusion. I've replaced a fair few of those potmetal bandsaw blade guides. Should take Andy no time to cast some.

That picture of the wooden trucks looks like my FIL's garage in Ohio. I'll probably have to make a trip to clean out his house and garage after we move to Tallahassee.
