I love it when there is forward progress.

Trying to keep up with you but I’m still losing ground.

You're a wildman Shorty. Has to be a good feeling .

Yay!!! More open space. Well Don, looks like you’re spared from the beautiful Florida weather and painting the SL. Luckily we found a buyer.

John (Toolfool) stopped by Saturday and helped me finish the ceiling trim. IMG_9127.jpg Last thing left to do is hang reel. Had to trim a 2x4 to fit over the ribs. It’s drilled and painted, waiting on installation. While waiting for the paint to dry, I tried out some Boeshield I picked up at an estate sale. Adjustments.jpg 60 seconds and a light scrub with a green scotchbrite on the rust brake. Works great.
Also was able to some much needed house cleaning and also sold some I-beams that have been laying around for 10 yrs.
Making progress and more room to walk around.

Woot woot, more open space. I’m sorry Don that you’re going to miss coming to beautiful Florida to paint the SL. I also sold some 10 yr old I-beams, freeing up outside space. 6e7002d9f1ff97b99bff7dc246c65324.jpg
Saturday John and I installed the yellow ceiling trim. 7be702f578f599f0230cd659a7999045.jpgI had to make a spacer for the cord reel before I can reinstall. Drilled and painted, awaiting installation. IMG_9128.jpg
While the paint dried, I tried out some Boeshield I brought at an estate sale. 60 seconds and light rub with a Scotchbrite, really cleaned the brake up. Adjustments.jpg

Bending the I beam is as easy as dropping a half ton battery box on your leg.

I got the beams from a construction company That did subsurface construction.

That’s not a knuckle buster, it’s an I beam flipping and lifting tool.

Progress this weekend. The cord reel is hung so the ceiling project is officially done.

I decided to give Evaporust a try. Test item is the fingers for the brakeAdjustments.jpg.
I let them soak over night and ended up with these today. I’m a believer. Adjustments.jpgall the pieces were coated with Boeshield.

I decided to put the brake on my battery cart so it would be easier to work on and with. Glad I have my little crane. Mofo is heavy. I still have some cleaning to do on it but bent a piece of metal for a toolbox drawer project that’s been on hold, waiting on a brake. IMG_9160.jpg
Today the gas powered air compressor went out the door so more floor space for me. [emoji16]
Ended the day making 1/2” long bolts that are needed for a bandsaw table. Was going to buy but didn’t feel like driving to the big box store. Found some black bolts that look like they are factory to the bandsaw so a little nip with the bench grinder and deburring wheel, I saved a trip. IMG_9161.jpg

Wow! Glad to see the brake really works. BTW, you do realize it's just on loan till I get back home.

As Duker stated, I’m making progress. With nice weather and a long weekend, I’ve been working my list. Last weekend I assembled the base for the table saw bench only to realize the dimensions were based on 1x3 not 2x4’s. Decided I didn’t want or have the time to mill all the boards down so refigured the dimensions, trimmed the boards down. 8c625289b9f52fb6702c67cad1f7c7cb.jpg
I also finished up the second drill station for the home garage.

While loading up all my trash wood, I had these scraps and thought trailer leveling pads. c0a0a0dc8ecc4629869dc26362389103.jpg

Today was a big day. Two little projects that were nice to get out of the way or start was getting a old ratty seat off the floor and to start hanging a new ceiling fan over bench. I was going to try selling seat but knew it would be a waste of time so trash it was. Then a lightbulb went off. From a school cafeteria seat....

to a rolling shop chair to a custom rat rod shop chair.

Run some power to fan, add the blades and I’ll have cool breezes over the bench. adf74cdef367124c2a91c34e9735024f.jpg
In a lead up for the big project of the day, I switched out the **** casters on the stove for bigger ones. 64b364bbc6fae4c156831b266353281b.jpg a Lowe’s tip. This caster set is in the shelving unit section not in hardware with the regular casters. A couple bucks cheaper than four 2” regular casters.

Some time in November I came up with a new layout for the work bench/stationary tool area. I’ve been really wanting to do the layout but priorities. Today was the day. Woot woot. Here’s were I was this morning. 50c84c8d7d6462fa90296c9e18a92844.jpg
After a lot of Tetris and sweeping up enough dirt for the shop to be a barn, everything is in place. All the power tools are readily accessible, the lathe is finally off moving dollies and I can easily use either side of the bench. 4f857b2b0cd72598fd536e14fdb1506c.jpg
Getting the lathe in place required some fine battery moving type engineering. 01293b0863a179d6cfa9fa8e4f46e398.jpg I did realize that the motor off the back would need to be secured so an additional strap was used. Since I liked the height of the lathe on dollies, I opted for using 6x6’s for a base. 34814918fd4bb97095a1b709d3c0a8bb.jpg if you don’t ask how the leveling foot got bent, I won’t have battery flashbacks. I’ve leveled the lathe but want to fine tune it with the proper level.
What a great way to start off 2020!!!

I had some casters from a new shower chair we had bought for a relative, which never got used. I was going to cannibalize 'em but someone from offer-up offered me $90 for the shower chair, off it went. My idea was similar to yours for the shop chair.

The shop's safer that way too I bet. It looks more-efficient.

Stewart, I accidentally clicked on a picture in Facebook and this popped up. At first I thought it was your car but noticed it's an SL600 with the V12 engine. Looks like it needs paint but that didn't faze you before. Only 12,000 miles but needs a radiator according to the seller. Bring $1,400 and it's yours. (The other side doesn't look quite as good.)https://scontent-atl3-1.**.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/80112711_10220910399020580_4869783208973041664_n.jpg?_nc_cat=103&_nc_ohc=5OfMmAYOV6IAQnHKHZPmD0_cuRRuwRJ8kqS2ZOXcRPMIe_qj2NDcSerOA&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-1.**&oh=f2ea67a1ed080e32d471c0af950b57df&oe=5E68EC3A

^^ Owner forgot to disclose it was a former Mary Kay car. What I really like are the rims. They are worth 5 times what the rest of the car is.
