Thanks. The truck is rough so that’s why I volunteered to learn on it. Of course a corner of a windshield has to be one of the more difficult spots to volunteer for. 04D45EAB-7B0B-4ADD-85CE-EE6D67EA2BDF.jpeg
He’s extremely happy and I learned what not to do and got some coin.
Here’s the two spots I’m not happy about but didn’t have a shrinker/stretcher.

A little bit of QST.
Since bolt pattern is slightly smaller on C1, Craig suggested I slot the holes so I did. F7FC5623-5521-49DF-8AF7-4DC57A9CF66E.jpeg
Ready for work. Sorry Andrew, it’s bolted down now.

Did some gardening at the new shop. Moved ornamental grasses from house to new shop.

And relocated two banana trees to the property line.

The windshield project is back because I didn’t test the wipers. It needs all (not most) of the cowl structure around the passenger side wiper base. Learning experience that I’m learning a lot.

I was so focused on the windshield frame, I didn’t even consider the wipers. Oops. Price for being a Holiday Inn Express hack. 🥴

You probably already see what’s wrong here. The rot allowed wiper base to flex then bind. Duh?
I spotted the angle of the dangle (red) wasn’t correct either. This was caused by a true hack job. The person used two aluminum bars (blue line) to mount the wiper base. I guess it worked until the rust got really bad.
Here’s the piece I cut out and the replacement.

Forming the lip that gives strength to stamped cowl. First chip on new paint too. 🙁

Once I lay on a bunch of bondo and hi-build primer, I’ll share the picture.

While the primer and paint dried on the truck, I decided to do the quick clean and paint on my small Wilton. Painted the two main pieces and forgot to paint the base. Thought I’d used all the paint but had enough for three coats on the base. 😓

I’ve decided to keep C2 in back even though there’s no swivel base and the screw head is severely pitted and needs a new handle.
The middle one will probably go up for sell.

Quality QST today!!!!
Cleaned up benches and put away tools. Also shuffled some things between loft and main floor. I got rid of a mattress and ottoman so that free up space. 👍
Reconfigured the vacuum. You might remember this from earlier.

I think a drunken sailor was in the shop today. E4289220-328C-465C-9C51-416602FBE476.jpeg
Finished. Still need to improve cord and hose management and how to store accessories. So much better to push around and takes less space.

I have this lunch cart that I thought would be great around the shop. I found it to be too low and the lower shelves didn’t offer much height.

My brother just gave me some interesting legs with beefy casters. Some prototyping.
First using a piece of a desk that came with whse.

Then with the top shelf of lunch cart. I’m going to figure away to use all three shelves since they’re stainless.

I was going to keep the cart if the opened part was the narrow ends. Would be great for sheet goods and mattresses. However your suggestion gave me an idea.

To a nice, mobile box cart. A friend just moved and we hope to move next summer. RRR

Some dum **** was in the shop and got cut by the shape pieces of metal. Schooled him on the need for proper safety shoes.

Thought I hit gold. Pulled both screws from the two big Wiltons. Happy days, they appear to be the same size. 😁 C2 on left.
3C89BF4D-BF2B-4F67-8982-D48ED849BB1E.jpeg
Then I tried to fit the C2 locking clip on the better screw. 🫤 C2 is thicker and a larger diameter.

Of course I forgot about the photography rule that things closes to the camera appear larger.

p.s. why do designers and engineers find it necessary to change one dimension ever so slightly?

design output is based on input, likely they misjudged the number of guys who were going to put a pipe on the handle to tighten the vise! :) or some manager decided he could save 0.02 by making the spacer thinner.....

Today was yard tool maintenance day. First up was an oil and air filter change for the riding mower. Also the blade clutch cable was toast so replaced that.
Up next was the chainsaw. It got a good bath along with a new chain. Getting ready to drop some 70’ tall pines. What could go wrong.

Last, a down and dirty project was a basic level grader. I’m really liking the welding table set up.

Yesterday was a little yard work. Finally removed the two satellite posts. Did a little mowing but the mower started messing up. Damn guy that did the maintenance last *****. I got a new guy to work on it. Seems he’s more knowledgeable and is into safety too.

The last time mowing the left blade pulley worked lose and did it again yesterday. Seems someone didn’t use the correct pulley. ☹️

I also knocked the dust off the lathe to turn down some stock for an adapter for my MaxJax.

Just a $23.00 DCMT insert, at least you didn't run into the chuck..............you didn't run into the chuck did you? :eek2:
$23 would be for a decent brand name insert, but we know Shorty 😉 and I'll lay odds that it's the cheap chinesium one that came with the tools. As far as running into the chuck..... I'd probably lay odds on that too. 🙄😂

Funny thing.... I received this text Sunday..... the video stopped with the insert about 1/2 inch away from the chuck jaws...he had plenty of time to stop it before impact :headshake I'm sure he did :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Looks like the plastic filler tube is leaking at the metal engine case. Might have to break out the duck tape.
After finishing today’s Safety Session on moving rocks less than 100#….

I passed by a construction site that had some new I-beams in the dumpsters. I stopped and asked. $20 to the young guy and he helped me load them.

I thought the matching 8” beams would be perfect for a mower loading ramp. Not, hill isn’t steep enough. I did get a good heart workout. 🥵
