For a 4-day weekend, not much to report.
Scrap run; cans, brass, copper, windings, wire, aluminum, steel. The scrap corner cleaned up.

Didn’t realize it Friday but did Saturday morning that my cargo trailer had been stolen 🤬🤬🤬
Hopefully the business across from shop has recorded it with their security cams.
Mowed some grass and installed a shower pan.

Also took the steel stock I turned down to Ed’s since I’m parting challenged. Being an 1-1/4” diameter and unknown steel, he suggested putting the piece in the lathe and use a cutoff wheel or portable bandsaw. I chucked the piece up today and used the bandsaw.

Today’s Safety Tip
Don’t run over your toes unless you have your FSS on.
Speaking of safety, while dumping the steel, I stepped of the ledge a little. The guy operating the grapple started pointing at me and yelling something. Another worker told me the operator was the safety guy and I’m not supposed to step where I did. I told the guy “but I have on my safety shoes on” he looked down and laughed.

The plan was to manually lift each tire onto each mount. Thankfully another GJ member provided a better idea. Version 2 will be on the way soon.

Been busy with the strenuously busy day job.
I did get a little QST figuring how to install my new motor controller on my compressor. You know I like playing with things that go spark.
Today I even helped Jim Reed work on his Ford. Ugh. I found out Lincoln can’t use standard wiper arms but a tapered ball joint type of fit. 3979D65F-8694-4A9E-BF42-C8697277B9C7.jpeg
With a plastic cowl cover, luckily I had a small slide hammer puller. Jim has a socket set that I would gladly trade my CM for.

The square socket keeps it from rolling and is great for better grip when using your fingers. Nice solid feel.

I thought most vehicles used the tapered pivot for wipers now. I just flip the arm up, use it as a lever, wiggle it back and forth a few times, and it pops right off.

Ok be that way. I was giving everyone Florida Safety Shoes for Christmas but not now.

I’ve been lumberjacking. First off, a place to store the wood.

As you can see, I already have enough to get through this winter.

A friend recommended I use my HF pole saw to de-limb the fallen trees. Great idea because there’s no bending over, easy to reach over the trunk and you’re not yielding a heavy more powerful chainsaw. No blood too. 🤗
Since we went from rain everyday to drought I thought fire!!!

And reinstalled a spigot so I could safely manage the burn.

Pole saw will be great for getting this tree down.

Finally get my groove back. Headed to central Florida on Thursday, right in the middle of Nichole. Stopped by Lutz for a meet and greet with Scott and got to check out the Vette-Tesla project.
Friday, met Craig at Flywheeler’s and had a great morning. Also picked up my table and grease can that he picked up for me.

On the way back I stopped at an antique store and found a gallon can like the hundreds I threw away

A little rough but can use as a template for other cans. Next door to the antique shop was Don’s Toys 😳

Today some QST. Reassembled three vises that where covering my bench and put them on the low priority shelf.
Another project that’s been sitting on the bench for several weeks is the motor control for the air compressor. That’s a priority so…..
I wouldn’t think wiring would be a problem but 10 lbs in a 5 lb sack, errrrr
I decided to take a break before getting frustrated and unloaded the lift table.

It’s heavy so could have been a safety lesson if I didn’t use lift.
Removing the stuck chain and some lube, I got it up to max height (41”) which matches my bench.

And all the way down.

Definitely going to come in handy

Let’s see how well the ugly is removed? A cold chisel and masonry chisel does a decent job on knocking down the warts.

The masonry chisel work great on the legs too.

I’ll get back on the motor control so I can fire up the pressure pot sand blaster.

Is that rust or??
Looks like you've got your work cut out for you.

Nice score on the cans.
No that’s just some of the fine Florida patina. 😜

I would like to know the history since it looks like it’s been sitting in swallow salt water. Hopefully a quick wire brush and some paint will have it looking great. 😏

Shorty, you might be one of the most optimistic people I have never met.
