Really?Probably fine but if it were mine I'd probably fill those larger checks with polyurethane glue and draw it back together with some long structural screws spaced maybe a foot apart but alternating from each side.
If you don't want look of screws pin and glue it with large dowels, maybe 1" - 1-1/2" diameter.
