txusa03, what kit did you buy to get that kobalt ratchet? The all bit kit (24pc IIRC) or the bit that also has a few sockets included?

Both of the Kobalt kits use the same bit ratchet. I bought both and really like them.

There is a kit available at Costco that comes in small aluminum case with foam shadowing to hold all the pieces. Great kit but a little too big to carry. Bonaire brand if I remember correctly.

Neither one of them have a knurled spinner ring? The pics on their website are a bit deceiving then. :dunno:

Here's a little Gearwrench set with 4-12mm sockets, a bit adapter and assortment of bits. I've also augmented it with a magnetic extension and a 1/4" drive adaptor so I can use it with the 1/4" sockets in my trunk tool kit.

Small enough to fit in the central arm rest compartment. Have one in both cars. Got them on clearance at Orchard Supply for ~$9 ea if I remember correctly

I bought the kit with the socket several months ago. While I was at the store, I saw the all bit kit and it has the same bit ratchet as far as I can tell.

They might have switched to the spinner ring now so I will check it out when I visit lowes next time (if I remember to do that).

The husky is not mine and I do like the spinner on the husky. The husky has friction ring which can be difficult to insert and remove the bits.

TXM72 IIRC, they are ~$85 and quite large for a bit ratchet at ~6".

I bought the one pictured brand new on the truck, full price..... $124.95

Like I mentioned a while back in another thread about this bit ratchet's price..... I don't know if I should laugh or cry.  :eyecrazy:

I have the 3 piece craftsman, the kobalt and the gearwrench set and I like the gearwrench set the most. I use it all the time.

Lang makes an awesome little 3 piece bit ratchet set and it is magnetic ($42 from Amazon). I have the set re-branded as Matco which I got off of the truck for $55. It's a 7 piece set which includes a straight and 2 bent head bit ratchets plus 2 flat head bits and 2 phillips head bits. Sunex makes a bit ratchet and bit set which you can buy from Amazon for around $30. The EZ-Red Quarter Stick comes in handy also. ToolTopia probably has slightly lower prices.
