I am too lazy to go pull out all my 10mm, take a picture, and put it all away…

Here is a few pictures of my main metric drawer…

The ones going top to bottom, with a tie wrap on them, are 1/4” 10mm that are part of sets (I use that loosely, because most of my tools don’t match).

The ones going left to right, with a tie wrap on them, are 1/4” 10mm spares.

The one’s in the Wright tray in back are 3/8” 10mm spares.

Each 3/8” and 1/2” set has a 10mm.

I have more 10mm sockets in my cart, on my workbench, in my second toolbox…

I have said this before, so I am not being original right now… but I swear… I never lose 10mm anymore… they know that if they disappear, that I am not sending out a search party. They will be unceremoniously replaced. They are scared to run away…

I don’t actually know how many 10mm sockets I have. The last time I counted them, I found 49. I have no idea how many I have added since then.

I have very few needs, hardline tool wise, but I still look for tiny (4mm-5.5mm) USA sockets and 10mm USA sockets.

I always wanted to buy one of those giant brandy snifters, with the thick glass, and fill it with 10mm sockets… and put it on the bar in my basement. I realize how stupid this is… but I really want to do it… like literally a gigantic snifter full of 10mm sockets… I think that would be so cool.

That drawer is just my metric drawer of my main box. The SAE drawer is the second drawer from the bottom of my main box.

There's no such thing as a real 10mm. They are all made out of a metal that when exposed to air will dissolve.

I have a similar set by gear wrench. Also picked up the tekton double end box wrench 90 degree offset for a VST tank on a Suzuki in 10mm.

I don't think i've ever lost a 10 mil, but I did find one once, going out of a store to get in the truck. A shallow 1/4" drive with about a 2" extension on it.

Flex head ratcheting GearWrench gets used the most, but the Nepros 10 mm is probably the dime piece of all my tools. The super shallow Koken 10's are super nice too. The slimmest sockets I've ever found - no extra material on those bad boys at all!

There was a local Ace hardware that was closing, I bought all their Craftsman 10mm wrenches and sockets at $1 each. Stocking stuffers for years, repeats welcome.

What socket trays are those? Look custom printed?

I do not remember the name of either of the two brands that I have. I would guess that they are late 80’s-1990’s-ish. I buy every one I come across… I have 1/4”-3/4” drives… and I still have nowhere near enough to do just my metric drawer. I need a bunch more 3/8” and 1/2” for my metric drawer and would need lots more to do my SAE drawer and cart…

I get so excited when I find this stuff. It took about 20 years to get what I have… which can cover less than 70 percent of just my metric drawer.

To me they’re perfect. Minimalist, great spacing and no wasted space.

Also love the round pegs so you can orientate the socket in any fashion you want.

I fell in love with this system the minute I found it. It is a joy to use. It gets easier as you continue to use it, because it is so intuitive.

The 1/4” is especially easy to use, as you can make most of it line up. From front to back it is mostly (excluding hex and Torx, ETorx…) perfectly straight rows of the same size 1/4” drive sockets… you could have 20 in any given row if you moved the bit sockets.

To keep it intuitive, I lined up the Torx with the security Torx and the shallow ETorx with the deep ETorx.

The two sockets that are not obvious are two SK 16mm shallow sockets that did not have an obvious spot.

The row behind the deep 1/4” impact is all spare 1/4” drive 10mm… and the 3/8”drive metal Wright tray is filled with spare 3/8”drive 10mm spares.

Mine want to congregate somewhere between the front quarter panel and the inner sheet metal. I know they’re there, secretly plotting to increase their number.

I had no idea they sold "sets" of 10MM socket variations. Now that's clever!
It, however, begs the question: Is an Impact 10MM socket really necessary?
Don't we use a Hand Impact Driver for small frozen bolts so we don't snap 'em off?
