Re: Revamped's Challenger Re: Show off your lifts!!!

Hell, I'll toss mine on here!

Challenger CLV10-3 DPC.

Extended height; why not... I have 17ft ceilings.

DPC; The ability to lay on the floor next to the project on either side and use the remote to watch as I separate frame from body, and target lift points to ensure everything is GTG and safe.

Versymmetric; 3-stage front and rear arms... one lift, one solution for everything.

Revamped:rocker:

I always wondered why they had the external remote. Can’t lower without releasing locks though correct?

Bendpak XPR10-AS-168-LP: 10k pound capacity, asymmetrical, 168” height (extended columns), low profile arms.

Works great so far. For the past 10 years I’ve used a Forward lift with the individual unlocks above each arm combo, which required you to go to each side to lower, but once it was disconnected it did not engage until you went back up past a lock. There are pluses and minuses I see about each system.

Mine is the xpr-10axls. Other than the one piece uprights, I'm not sure what the difference is.

Mine is the xpr-10axls. Other than the one piece uprights, I'm not sure what the difference is.

The one piece columns give you extra lifting height as there are longer cylinders.

Mine is a standard rise with the raised top bar, with associated cabling and hydraulic lines extended to accommodate. I had initially looked at the standard height and wanted low profile arms. After talking with the folks at Bendpak, the addition of either the arms or the extension separately was not much less than getting both together so I splurged a little bit on my end.

I’m sure the extra lift can come in handy especially if you park something taller underneath, and you would have to worry less about using lengthened adapters to lift vehicles with a high ground clearance as you would have more travel to spare to get clearance over your head or where you need it. But that does cause some issues as I’ve noticed that if I lift my Outback from the low profile arm height with the screw pads all the way in there is less clearance for the doors, a relatively minor issue with the asymmetrical configuration.

Love the e36 LTW. Don’t see many anymore.

Thanks, but it's not a real factory LTW, I have to be honest. It is a 97 and has the light grey M-Tech interior. The PO had the flags on it, and I ended up keeping them after just not wanting to take them off (its been 10 years). Now that it's tweaked for track/autoX/backroad use, I've grown to like them.

I have a couple of motorcycle lifts but only one in use currently. My original Handy lift is in my storage bay at the moment but I have my newly acquired Handy SAM 2 lift in the shop. I'm expecting the new Handy lift to provide at least the same level of performance that the original did for the past 25+ years.

The front and rear drop down sections sure will be nice. It always made me nervous to lift the bikes up high enough to remove tires from dressers on my old Handy. I never had an issue but it just made me anxious.

My old Ammco 10k pound capacity lift that I brought with us from our old home shop and placed in our new shop. Not the greatest picture.

Here it is with my 2006 2500HD Duramax on it. I mounted a Reelcraft air hose reel and paper towel pull dispenser on it when I set it up in our new shop for convenience.

Do you know how many feet your 2500 truck bumper is from the center of your two post lift? Im am planning my slab, I thought I wanted the two post 13ft from the door but after seeing your picture I think I should go 15 ft from the door.

My two post is 17ft from the door and that’s the minimum I would go. See picture below.

Anything less and you are getting close to not being able to walk behind a CCLB.

My 12,000# 2 post. It’s outside in weather. I do a lot of lifting cabs, boxes, car bodies plus other heavy
Work.

My 8 or 9000 lb 4 post it’s inside but do have caster kit. I had to cut 5” off top to get it to clear door in main shop.

Underside stuff and to keep my truck out of harms way.

If memory serves the center of my columns are 17' off the back wall and I have 30" deep work benches. There is about 6' between the front of my truck and work benches when the truck is on the lift.

I can still pull a vehicle in behind one on the lift and have plenty of room around the front between vehicle and work bench. Sorry, I don't have exact measurement for front bumper to center of column.

How do you like it? How much did you grab this one for? This is the exact lift my buddy recommended me. What I don't like is those rectangle pads that look like the metal on the edge is raised higher than the rubber and it looks like on a wide frame the car would be resting on the edges and not touching the rubber. I kinda like the round pads. maybe it wont cause an issue, who knows.

Having a house in the city, with limited lot sizes, property line setbacks, etc. all gave a serious challenge to make my dreams come true. In the end I feel this is the best situation I could possibly come up with. I am only 5 foot 8 inches tall. The ceiling is roughly 11.5 feet.

With the Atlas 409 hp lift in the fully raised position there is 52.5" (4.375 feet) of clearance above the lift and 77.5" (6.45 feet) of clearance under.

Both of my Buicks are 53" tall. My working height for these cars is such that I will have the lift set at 61.5" above clearance and 73.25" (6.1 feet) of clearance under. I would often want the car at a lower setting, and the locks are 3" apart.

Then onto the jacked up GMC 2500 (8300 pounds), which is well within the weight ratings of the lift and easily fits on the extra long ramps. So the truck is 85" tall (7.08 feet). How you may ask will this fit on the lift? Well, the truck have nearly 2 feet of clearance. If I put it 6 feet up on a lift I couldn't reach the under side. I realistically need the truck about 4 feet off the ground so I can reach the underside. So it worked out in my dry run testing today that gives me 85.5" clearance above, and 44" under. This seems low however given the 2 feet of clearance under the truck this puts it at a perfect height for me to work on the underside.

I posted my lifts about 9+ years ago but not in my new shop.

Here is my old Handy first gen motorcycle lift that I have had for about 25 years now. Sorry about the small pictures as they are from earlier posts.

Here is my new Handy SAM II motorcycle lift that I purchased about a year ago. I kept my first gen Handy lift and keep it in the storage bay until needed but the new SAM II resides in the shop area. It is slightly larger than the first gen lift and I really like the fold down front and rear sections for dropping out tires and/or suspensions.

Lastly, here is my Ammco 10k pound 2-post lift that I have had for coming up on 10 years now. I brought this from my old shop.

Talk about garage envy. I wish mine looked that clean. Mine isn't even cluttered, I just can't keep the floor that clean. Every time I open the doors a bunch of dust, dirt, and **** blows in.

Thanks. It doesn't always look like this though as it is a working shop and does get quite dirty at times. I can't stand clutter or a mess so there are times I have to stop mid-project in order to clean the shop and keep my sanity.:lol_hitti

I wouldn't go that far Cam. We had a decent breeze blowing on Monday evening when I got home and I had the shop doors open while I was mowing the lawn. Before putting the lawn mowers away I blow them off with compressed air and wouldn't ya know it, I had several leaves that had made their way into my shop. Pissed me right off.:lol_hitti

No Kidding! :D

Thanks. It doesn't always look like this though as it is a working shop and does get quite dirty at times. I can't stand clutter or a mess so there are times I have to stop mid-project in order to clean the shop and keep my sanity.:lol_hitti
And then armed with a battery powered leaf blower, you chased those leaves all the way off your property, right?

I have had some Atlas products for about 5 years so far. They have been very good to me.

Hmm, can't believe I haven't posted here. Guess I've been missing it.

Two post lift has been installed for a couple of years and I seem to just now be getting around to using it except for storing the 442 body. Recently placed body back on chassis in hopes to taking to body and paint guy.

Greased 1976 Ford F100 for the first time in a few/several years.

Expected to grease the 1991 Miata but no grease fittings!?!

So much fun, it might get a lot more use in the future. . . .

Advantage lifts for storage. Shop filled back up pretty quick.
