My four post lift. It uses hydraulics under pressure from a 110 volt motor. I bought it, the craftsman toolbox in the picture by the 4 wheeler, some auto parts and a bunch of tools for $2k from a neighbor going through a divorce. It sure has made a difference for me. Repairs, oil changes tire rotation etc. At 60 yoa I don't do cardboard and concrete like I used to.

8 ft, 2 inches. I ended up digging it out by hand because I couldn't find a bobcat/auger attachement that would go that deep. Also, after about 5 feet I hit sandstone, and had to dig the last 3ft with a rented jack hammer. Took about 3 weeks to dig the hole the hard way, working on it every day. Hardest thing I have ever done, but I think it was worth it.

That's dedication right there! Hat's off to your perserverance!!!

this may not be the right thread for asking this question, but what is the failure rate on Maxjax? just trying to figure out how "safe" it really is by not having a cross beam. how big of a factor will the quality of the concrete have on its ablility to stay upright while holding a load?

I am considering a lift for my garage, but not sure if one will fit. The height is 8ft. 2 inches from floor to 2X4's above. I have storage overhead with plywood layed down on top of the 2X4's for a floor and a staircase at the end of the garage for access. Anyone have experience with lifts with this height?

Maxjax...Removable and lift only a few feet. specifically designed for use in garages with low ceilings, or for those who want the floor space back when the lift is not in use...Waiting for a reply on their safety before pulling the trigger on it

Incredible build skruffse. I checked out your thread on the other site. I couldn't understand a word of the commentary but I was transfixed. Please consider putting up some more pics on GJ or better yet, a whole build thread.

The materials and methods you are utilizing are absolutely fascinating. Thanks for sharing.

This thread is worthy of reviving, so a couple pictures to update it. Not so much a new lift, as something new to put on the lift(s). For all the ///M Coupes I've worked on__including this one in the past__this is the first one I'm buying (just need to fork over the cash, but nobody seems to be in a hurry, so why rush...).

The blue one in the air, and the black one underneath are both customer cars; this is the clean garage, or waiting room. The New Addition was just parked outside.

This is the newest addition to the permanent fleet; 1999 ///M Coupe, that I put a Eurosport Twinscrew Supercharger on about nine (9) years ago. Just a ton of subtle, awesome little details that make this such an outstanding example.

Remember in those other pictures (2 years ago) when this garage looked so clean and empty? Not anymore! This one is called the dirty garage for a good reason.

Working in the hatch, inside my welding-blanket tent; can't be having welding or grinding sparks attacking the side glass or headliner!

Great photos there guys. I was wondering, do any of you know of a vendor that can ship a lift to Alaska with minimal costs associated. Last vendor I spoke with was quoting somewhere around 1k for shipping.

Thanks again!

Here is my Triumph 7000 lb 2 post lift. Best thing I've done to be able to keep working on car projects. I'm getting too old to crawl around on the floor.

Well I lucked into a $200.00 unit last year. I need to remodel my garage, to use it, to it's fullest extent (ceiling hieght). But the more I think about it, I also may want to cut the floor open, and recess the lift, in the floor???

As for the lift itself, when it was offered to us, we were not sure what it was. I was afraid it was an old front end alignment rack, and would only give three feet of lift. We were happy to find, that it is a full size unit.

At times, both rails, do not stay at the same level, while lifting, or lowering, I need to find out, what would cause that.

enough typing, here are a few pics, of when we brought it home.
From 4 years ago, i know. I have just been given a similar unit. Made here in Brisbane,Australia by Colin Jones engineering . I need to rebuild all the hydraulics (it was free after all) and get the remote control working again. I have used all types of hoists from the single ram rotary hydraulic to four post electric cable type. They all have their uses and i prefer the four post ramp units so this one is going to be interesting to use.Attached is a pic of it in action about 10 years ago.

Wow some great lifts in this thread, got a lot of ideas about garage decorating as well! Just wanted to post mine, installed this past Monday and just love it, should have done it a long time ago.

Here is a pic I snapped after getting the car on it and the turbo Accord under it:

Got it this past Wednesday, operational on Thursday, as of right now I can only to the first lock which is about 27" off the ground, hopefully soon I can put in a high lift garage door kit with a liftmaster 3800 to fully utilize the lift

First post here. Just wanted to share a lift I have not seen on here yet. Stenhøj. It is an electro mechanical 2 post lift so there are no alignment wires in floor or overhead. Runs super smooth. Sorry for the mess but the garage is still WIP.
