I am in the process of deciding a new stool for my shop as well I kinda outgrew my stool and broke off a wheel when rolling. Homemade, re purposed lets see them all.

I just picked up 2 Snap-on stools from my local Costco for $40 each. Very nice for the price.

Its the one thing that I always remember from dads shed, his wooden stool with a chipboard seat put together with offcuts from one project or another.
This is mine... An old brake drum that I fished from a scrap bin as a base along with three cyclone fence posts... I had the 25mm (1") square steel from another project.. The seat is marine ply that was part of an offcut from a box I'm making for the ute..
So this is the stool painted... Perfect height for me.. its about an 1" or 2 lower than standing so as to just take the weight off my legs.

HF for me. The craftsman one at sears is the same stool with a different name. It's served me well. My daughter and her friends use it as a skateboard around the driveway. I guess you can say its sturdy. The winter salt is starting to rust it a little, but nothing a rattle can cant fix come spring. It's adjustable height as well.

I reupholstered a second-hand InterRoyal for the bench I sit at. I like it. It's height adjustable, and it rolls.
But remember that if there's any temptation to use a stool to get up to higher storage, it shouldn't be one with wheels on the legs or a seat that rotates.
I know for a fact that I'm going to be too lazy to reliably get a stepladder out when I need something from one of my higher cabinets, so I've also got a regular, fixed stool from a restaurant-supply place.

Here is one I made out of a tractor seat(don't have it put together anymore, I didn't really like the seat's stand) and on the bench is a Marine EFV seat I will make into a chair someday.

1st one...Seat from my old tractor, base (re-painted) from garage sale.

The stool is very nice. That vise is way cool. I wish I had a vise that said made in Australia.
I have a pair of these older stools that came from a school.
I also have a pair of the black Cman stools.
More that likely the older stools will go away and be replaced with another pair of Cman stools, if I can catch them on sale again.

Dawn vices are Australia's Wiltons etc I guess. She's def a hunk of cast iron. Took to it with a wire brush last night.. gonna give her a bit of a makeover... and it only cost me $70
I'd suggest i could send one to you.. but i'd hate to think what the freight on a 40kg vice would be

Since Radrush showed his Capt chairs, I grabbed a pic of my T-bird seats along with the stools.
I still need to add some casters to one of the TurboCoupe sets, but they are comfortable.

Agreed, I'd love to have one of those covers on my Craftsman stool.
I've got one of each of the Craftsman stools also but almost never use the tall one, the little rolling one is incredibly handy. One downside though - the foam they used in it seems to be the same stuff used in those insulated "heat-a-seat" hunting cushions. If I sit on it for an hour or more, my **** will be blazing hot.
On the other hand, couple that effect with a cup of black coffee, and it certainly keeps me regular...
