I am a little late responding, but I believe Red Diamond was a trademark (first use 1930, filed 1948, registered 1951) used by a NYC hardware store. I cannot at the moment recall the store name (NOT the English company Garrington’s).I spotted this screwdriver on eBay this morning. I’m thinking of making an offer.

Well, I am even later responding and totally missed Part I of this discussion (probably the awesome Excelsior ID threw me...), but Masback, Inc., formerly Masback Hardware Company, owned that TM. It's strange that the JUSTIA site you used included everything but the name of the owner, but going straight to the source once you have a Serial or Registration Number - USPTO's TSDR page (TSDR.USPTO.gov) - never fails.I am a little late responding, but I believe Red Diamond was a trademark (first use 1930, filed 1948, registered 1951) used by a NYC hardware store. Thanks much for the information! Also, I think my next band name is going to be 'Merger ****'.^ Litton Industries. There's a LITTON thread here
It was a very short-lived episode in the tool making industry - Litton was another victim of the corporate takeover/merger **** of the 1970s-1980s.

I'm not sure Litton made anything in the USA. The socket sets I've seen say 'imported from Taiwan'.^ Litton Industries. There's a LITTON thread here

Wow! I grew up a few streets from the mill where this company was located. Was in operation until 1999 after the assets were purchased by RectorSeal in 1998.May not be a tool but I like the looks of Nokorode flux.
Neat. I didn't realize they sold out. That explains why I haven't seen any on the shelves at my hardware store.Wow! I grew up a few streets from the mill where this company was located. Was in operation until 1999 after the assets were purchased by RectorSeal in 1998.
