I have one for the thread. I picked this old pliers solely due to the logo, but I can not tie it to a manufacturer. It’s capital letters “M” and “H” surrounded by a larger “S”. Below are two “D”s separated by an upward pointing arrow. I have tried searching any/all combination of those letters, so far to no avail. Challenge for the group!

Saw this at a shop I stopped by yesterday. Didn't buy it, just captured the pic. Looks like it's from Smith Bros. Hardware Columbus, Ohio.

That was the body of a thread plate, with 3-5 different dies inside. Here is a pic of a Hoff with the dies in place.

Other makers include Holroyd, Wells Bros, MTS&M, and Hoff is J M Hoff & Lange. Just to give you some targets to focus your search a bit. Those fun logos are often European.

Thanks rtm, I know what it is, I don’t know who it is, I picked it up here in the uk, I haven’t seen that stamp before and haven’t had any luck on other forums……

A few cool logo's
First a Shwinn Approved wrench. Obviously a Snap- On made wrench.
A hardware knife from the 1930's made by Utica with Buffalo shield.
Lastly a Western Boulder stockman knife with a Buffalo tang stamp.

The B in a circle, arrow, and cross is W. Butcher ( from Sheffield, England) it's on a carpenters chisel. They made plane irons, chisels, Bowie knives, adzes, drawknifes, etc. In the late 1800's until possibly as late as the 1920's. I've never seen a catalog, though.
Some stuff in here is the only one I know of. THis page and following, not all of it is showing up in the search tool.

Thanks. Seems like with the amount of stuff they produced, they would have had a catalog of some sort. There was an ad for edge tools I found on Google one time that was in the late 1910's.

There's also a book about William Butcher getting his house fire bombed by the local union when he was going to set up some manufacturing in USA.

When I saw the logo on these snips I had to buy them.

The three rabbits, or three hares symbol has been around for a long time. Some references refer to it as the tinner's hares, which is probably why it was used on these tin snips.

M.B.Co. ADVANCE is a new brand to me. I wasn't able to find any information on them. These were made in Cleveland Ohio.

Here's a link to the wiki page, for a generic overview of the symbol.

Interesting evolvement on that "three hares" symbol.

Our friend at AA was kind enough to identify the maker of your snips:

Manufacturers Brush Co., 1950 W. 114th, Cleveland, OH (1924) 12401 Elmwood Ave, Cleveland, OH (1932) / est. 1910 / "Advance" snips / patent 988506 Apr 4 1911 Rudolf Radinse & 1174488 Mar 7 1916 Rudolf Radinse and Otto Geiger & 3084367 Apr 9 1963 Rudolf R.
