my top socket drawer does not hit my wrench drawer, its my wrench drawer hitting my 3rd full width drawer underneath, i have unloaded everything out of the two drawers and they still tap

I think the situation is worse with single slide drawers. That was where I first had it happen, and it touched worse than those pic's I posted of the top (double slide) / second drawer.

If it is the smaller drawer that touches, that would make more sense, it has only one drawer slide and less meat to keep it from sagging.

I will get to work on loading up my top drawer, you guys are making me feel bad. The problem is I don't have much for 3/4" drive, I have mostly 1" stuff and then a box of 3/4" drive that stays in the knaack box waiting to be used for towers. Honestly it is almost all HF type stuff, except for my Swench sockets, but I don't keep that stuff in the main box either. My 1" drive stuff is almost all Proto and Curtiss Wright (Swench).

yes i agree worse with single slide, but why does it still do it?, also i feel like i can not add drawer guards as that will increase the thickness of the drawers

Again, it's kind of a non-issue since you generally should not be opening multiple drawers at the same time. It's just bad practice. Like I said earlier, I have seen a guy do that to the point he dumped his tall stack of older CM roller / mid box / top chest -- bashed the sh^& outta that top chest and spread sockets / wrenches all over half the shop--- then he got to spend 2 hours playing 372-tool-pickup, finding everything scattered under work benches / machinery.....I know the big Epiqs have a lot more mass to them and probably would not tip, but still....if you start that habit, some day you might find out it will tip when enough drawers are left open....

That was my original point, today was the first time I have ever had those two drawers completely opened like that. I could never see a situation where I would do it again. I hardly ever have two drawers of any size open more than a few inches at the same time, unless they are in different banks.

Never had the double drawer hit deal yet. My bottom draw is not level. Don't bug me yet. Probably not fully seated in the runner.

I can make my top drawer touch the second drawer if I push down on it, fully extended, with the second drawer open halfway. It's impressive how well the slides handle the weight. I don't need to tell the guys that own them, but for those that don't, I can bump the drawer and it will glide closed by itself. Box is 8 years old, never touched or lubed the slides.

Slight gap with between top and second drawer, top drawer is all the way out.

I told my driver no go on any of my deals, he kept pushing me to get a 68", but it was not what I wanted and about $1000 over my budget. There is always next time. I am honestly thinking about getting both epiq carts, then I could mix and match my drawers.

I think all of the "big 6" are kinda entertaining when I have time to sit and peruse it all, like a Sunday morning while soaking up my coffee.
I think it is kinda telling the best / most reasonable of the bunch "retired" after 9 months - essentially saying there's too much real life to deal with to be a steady YouTuber. I do find the Junkies profanity outbursts both hilarious (like when his camera screws up - "SH&*, F$*&!!!") yet unnecessary for the content. :spit:

Yeah J young was my favorite of that group. I do like Garnett with his German tools, Dow seems like a real good dude and Junkie very entertaining.

The junkie is the only one I watch regularly. The others are too loaded with nonsense, rambling, and are not really entertaining. Dow I watch a little bit, but the junkie is entertaining.

Lighting is a little dark. I'd love to see it in better lighting if you can.

My tool control is ordered. Apparently it was cut yesterday according to the data I can get everything in the 3" drawers.

So Iam thinking about 4x3" full length drawers. Forgive my poor photoshop type skills.

Thinking about it. Ain't gonna be cheap but nothing to do with an Epiq is cheap.

Its probably off the Rock-n-Roll truck. Once every year or two they switch out all of the display boxes for new models/colors. The box rode around in a truck for a year, but it is the BEST price you will ever be offered i promise you that.

Yes. I bought a special edition box that was on the truck for many months. It was already on a promo / sale when the tool man put it on the truck. I got another big discount off of that because he was afraid of "display wear" and needed to get it off his truck before something happened to it. Basically got it for his cost. No problems with that deal at all even with a trade in.

im still here :D unfortunately you can't do X4 three inch drawers unless they did something differently at the factory recently.

Wodda ya mean?

The spacing is not correct?

That's bad news.

Can I at least do 3x4"?

Welcome back. Thought you where removed.

Yes, the 3" drawer can only be paired with a 5" drawer. The 5" drawer has to be above the 3". Lastly they can only be mounted at the uppermost cutouts - no other way unless you do alot of custom fabricating and modifying. You can't do multiples either, such as duplicate 3" or 5"

Well that ***** I guess. I always thought SO did 2" centres and if the numbers add up, you can switch and swap till ya blue in the face.

Do you have any pictures of the inside mechanics? I know you had pics but all your posts here have disappeared.

this is my fourth slide install (i actually have to remove the inner slide because it rubs on the small drawer) in prep for my four 2" drawers.

As you can see the slide for the 3" Drawer starts at the bottom with 1" top hang. The 5" slides start at the top with 1" of under hang. Also there needs to be special cut out for the latch locking mechanism on the toolbox itself as the 3" drawer is offset. Then if you happen to overcome all of this the locking hook on the back of the drawer won't line up with the toolbox.

Hope this makes sense, and as always snap-on could come out with a new parts numbers so you never know. But with the current part numbers it can't work.

Ya I see. Thank you!

The 3 & 5 have to be paired to give the correct 8". Technically they could go down 4". (Won't go down because of the drawer lock)

So only even drawers can be stacked anywhere in the unit?

Don't think I'de bother with 3x4" as it ain't creating any extra space. Would only be for aesthetics.

So, all ain't lost yet. I can technically get two beds into 2" full length drawers.

If I add 2x2" and an extra 4", that should work?

Thanks for the input guys. He sent me a teaser pic to see if I liked the color. Might spring for the drawer gaurds and lights depending on what they offer me for the trade in.

Yep that picture is from the Rock-n-Roll truck. Sapphire blue with titanium trim is a killer color combo! Clear coat powercoat, very nice.
