My first post!
I've been watching all you guys for quite a while thou!
Here is one of six Kayak cradles I created using TurboCad/Sheetcam/Mach3/Arclight Dynamics 12000/Hypertherm PowerMax 65 plasma table/ and my trusty old Century 110 Wire feed welder.(maybe someday I can talk my dear wife into a Miller 251, after all, she bought into the idea of the CNC plasma table!)
I created the files so the parts would be self aligning. The inner horizontal support has tabs that index into the side supports. Then I clamped the top at one end and worked the metal into the cradle shape, tacking it along the way. I will top them off with some high density foam to protect the boats. The cradles mount to a rack that fits on a two place snowmobile/four wheeler trailer. I can raise the lower rack, get 2 four wheels on the deck, 3 kayaks on the first tier, and 2 canoes on the top rack.
Canoe Tie-downs... not really a "welding projects" but parts for projects.
