Here is an update on my bed project.
Earthgoat2 that's coming out quite nice. I want to make a storage bed myself, but will do it on a saw table.

Ok, thats ^ impressive. My piddly **** should be posted in another thread compared to that. Nothing special just stuff I wanted or thought would be fun. We did need the forklift pipe cradles at work and came up with these from scrap.
The trailer rack is for my 1948 Sears&Roebuck behind my Jeep. The "roots" are the bottom of one of the jewelry trees I posted earlier. And the Jack in a Cage because who doesn't enjoy giving a bottle of alcohol welded in a cage to their boss, friends, or in-laws?
Yes, Id agree thats impressive. I couldn't hold the pattern for that long of a distance. I guess now we hope the original dimensions that no one has are correct?
Sweet! Post up some progress picks. Did you fab those feet or cut 'em off something else?Needed to make a stand for a Pexto brake I picked up after seeing how much cast iron legs go for on ebay/craigslist...
Decided to make something like this Delta band saw stand but with the height I needed and with wheels...

That's cool. Where did you source those feet?

... clear as mud?
Crystal. Very clever, I'll be stealing that one for sure!

I did call it a BEAM... Guess you missed that right after I described the SHAPE of said BEAM with Kite SECTION...
Just bought my first bottle of gas and started on a new table project. Definitely welds better than the flux core I had but I need to practice a lot! I do not miss all the weld splatter I had with flux.
Building a 30” x 36” folding welding table from an old miter saw stand I had. It was made by Hitachi and given to me by my dad 5 years ago. I don't have the saw so its time to repurpose.
Planning on a 1” tube frame to support the 3/16” top. I may need to add some adjustable feet, I’ll decide once the top is on. The added weight may make it sit more solid. I don’t weld often so being able to fold this up and clear the garage floor for cars will be ideal.
Setup to decide on top plate dimensions. The layout of the legs should let me clear the top sitting on my shop stool and get close to the work.
Lincoln ProMig 140 w/ 80 cuft bottle of 75/25 mix and .025 solid wire
Welding up some areas missed in manufacturing. They had 3 sides of each tube welded and various other tack welds. Some looked ok others need some grinding.
Added a tube to brace the side that was open. The other side only has a steel strap to allow the legs to fold together flat
Folded up minus the top plate. The table locks together when setup by tightening that white knob that clamps to a tube
Ill update after the weekend as it comes together...

Did you use a donor fender to fill the gap made by the stretch?
Made this today
Nice . I have three styles that I make. Sold pretty well at craft show.
That's really cool. How did you form the branches? It is heating solid rod with a torch and hammer into shape? Make sure to post up the finished project.I’m taking a metal sculpture class. I made this last friday. The toenail clipper for size comparison. This Friday we make the leaves.
Fabbed 'em.... see above post![]()
