A support stand. I made it to support long items on the drill press but it could be used for a chop saw or whatever.
1" x 0.65" sq. tube
1.25" x .12" sq. tube for sleeve on the sliding part.
1/2" bolts with 1/4" rod for the thumb screws (rod bent using press and bending dies)
3/16" plate for the pivot.
3/8" carriage bolts and coupling nuts for the feet.

With the 1.25" sleeve being short, I was able to use a file to file down the weld seam on the inside. I also needed to take a few passes with a flap disc on all four sides of the sliding part so it would slide in smoothly.

Not Stainless but todays project...
I did not have the furniture this is supposed to be attaching to, the client does not have it, the End user does not have it, I received a set of dimensions from a third or fourth party... what could go wrong???

48" continuous bead on .125 5052 H32 Aluminum sheet.
127 Amps max unknown where I had backpedalled to.

AC I used 120Hz to tack the backside and 200Hz on the long weld to irritate my co-worker...

3/32 2% Lanthanated Tungsten, 3/32 ER5356 Blue Demon Filler Metal wiped off with a Bounty Selectasize paper towel and 100% Isopropyl Alcohol. Number 5 Cup... Ck20 Flex Torch, HTP Cooler, AHP AlpahTIG 200X... 25 CFH Pure Argon... Ummm I don't know what else... Sheared the face blank, Plasma Cut the topper, sanded all the edges on the belt sander with Zirconia 120 Belt...

Ok, thats ^ impressive. My piddly **** should be posted in another thread compared to that. Nothing special just stuff I wanted or thought would be fun. We did need the forklift pipe cradles at work and came up with these from scrap.

The trailer rack is for my 1948 Sears&Roebuck behind my Jeep. The "roots" are the bottom of one of the jewelry trees I posted earlier. And the Jack in a Cage because who doesn't enjoy giving a bottle of alcohol welded in a cage to their boss, friends, or in-laws?

Just bought my first bottle of gas and started on a new table project. Definitely welds better than the flux core I had but I need to practice a lot! I do not miss all the weld splatter I had with flux.

Building a 30” x 36” folding welding table from an old miter saw stand I had. It was made by Hitachi and given to me by my dad 5 years ago. I don't have the saw so its time to repurpose.

Planning on a 1” tube frame to support the 3/16” top. I may need to add some adjustable feet, I’ll decide once the top is on. The added weight may make it sit more solid. I don’t weld often so being able to fold this up and clear the garage floor for cars will be ideal.

Setup to decide on top plate dimensions. The layout of the legs should let me clear the top sitting on my shop stool and get close to the work.

Welding up some areas missed in manufacturing. They had 3 sides of each tube welded and various other tack welds. Some looked ok others need some grinding.

Added a tube to brace the side that was open. The other side only has a steel strap to allow the legs to fold together flat

Folded up minus the top plate. The table locks together when setup by tightening that white knob that clamps to a tube

Ill update after the weekend as it comes together...

You know what is REALLY impressive? I didn't dip the tungsten or touch it with the rod in all 48"! I did regrind just before I started that weld and I did some tacks and stitch welds on the INSIDE corner behind everything to firm it up.
But then I just started on the right side did a good tack on the front working backwards to the edge, then moved to the left corner and did a good tack there... then on the right side started in from the tack backed into it then puddled dipped and started moving pause dip, pause dip, pause dip rinse lather and repeat! LOL!

Yes, Id agree thats impressive. I couldn't hold the pattern for that long of a distance. I guess now we hope the original dimensions that no one has are correct?

Pretty much we hope that once this arrives in the same zipcode as the furniture that it will FIT. since no one has seen the entire thing...

See that curved roundbar in the pics? I rolled that to match the curve then installed it using two Harbor Freight Magnetic indicator stands, Magged to the steel table top, the Vise Grips are clamped to the table and just tipped in to hold the material up. Then that is my raceway to slide along to keep my interval

Sweet! Post up some progress picks. Did you fab those feet or cut 'em off something else?

I used some 1/8" wall 2" dia tubing... cut it at 45 and tacked 2 together to make a corner. Split the whole thing in half so I could get 2 feet out of section I welded together. Traced out my template on each side of the original 45 cut/weld on the inside of the tubing and roughed it out with a cut off wheel. Welded the feet to the bottom of the frame legs and beat the outside flat with a BFH. Finished with a grinding when and then flapper disc... clear as mud?

They were a lot of work but I really wanted them on there!

Love to see ya getting cranking on stuff! After my own heart with all those two/four wheelers sitting around. Which brings me to my point. Might want to move some of the nicer finished machines a little further away from the welding process. Spatter travels amazing distances (even MIG spatter). Maybe think about covering some of the nicer pieces. A little effort now could save a lot of grief later.

Gotcha. I too had a gap to fill after the pie cuts. Luckily I had some material I cut out from the front part of the fender that matched the step down profile I needed at the back. It all worked out good. Now I just have to get the motivation to do the other fender, ugh....

Nice . I have three styles that I make. Sold pretty well at craft show.

You were my inspiration! What size horse shoes are those? I used a draft horse shoe for the base, and the rest are 00 that I cut in half and welded together. Also did you make the rings out of tube? If so what size? I couldn’t find a proper size.

Great, I'm glad you tried it. The two larger ones with the rings on the inside are number " 1 " DIAMOND CLASSIC shoes . I spread the shoes open for the the rings. By spreading I can fit four rings inside. The rings I cut from 1 1/2" schedule 40 black pipe. The pipe is 1 1/2" ID.
Diamond and St Croix Lite are great for artwork. They are a thinner shoe and easy to spread or close. Let me know if you need any other info.

I finished my folding welding table over the weekend. 3/16 plate and 1” x 3/16 tubing. Now I’m setup to take on some fun projects I’ve been planning. Easy to setup once I kick 1 of the cars out of the garage!
