Are you sure about the forged/ Made in Germany part?

Kind regards,
Olli
I was, until I double checked and I think this little blurb was what made me think it was Made in Germany:

“Precision German design power bar“

Now I’m not really sure what justifies the high price.
Alright you got me. I don't know if I'll ever need to use it, but I bought a wrench extender. I chose to go with this style. For under $10 on Amazon it looks like it would serve the purpose and I imagine it might even work in places where the longer handle style ones might not.

So just that you know I’m not trying to be a stick in the mud here. It’s just that I came across this brand twice, first time was about a year go on this YT video:

And the second time was your post about the wrench extender.

(The guys I linked above sure enough have a vid on that as well, I haven’t watched it yet.)

Mueller Kueps, by their own account, claim to sell to commercial shops, mechs, techs, (…) in the automotive field. And do private label for other well established brands.

They apparently have some Made in Germany stuff:

And of course the Allit boxes

Few online shops sell their tools, some ca be found on eBay.

I can’t speak for the commercial automotive repair world, but I can speak from a perspective as tool buyer and account holder with major industrial suppliers - if it wasn’t for that video and now your post, I wouldn’t even know the brand existed.

And everything that is not clearly labeled Made in Germany, seems to be the typical Taiwanese/Chinese private labeling stuff you can get from so many suppliers.

All I want to say, don’t pay top dollar prices for something that might be just the same tool that is available from other suppliers for less.

You will notice that the Mueller Kueps design

is offered from multiple other brands.

Seems to be a good design/ good tool!

Personally, from the research I did now, I like the Gedore/Klann best:

Kind regads,
Olli

No “stick in the mud” tendencies perceived by me! Seriously - thank you for prompting me to double check. I assumed the Mueller version was good mostly based on the endorsement by the Tekamo guys, as well as the high price. Now I know better …

Is the Gedore extender made in Germany?

AFAIK Mueller Krups is the original designer and manufacturer of that style of Wrench Extender. They also OEM for others, and I suspect the Wurth offering is a genuine MK. I remember when they came out back in the day. I didnt buy in because of the price and the fact I used a strongarm or linked wrenches when needed. They've since had their extender cloned by all the Amazon "Random Name" importers out of China and Taiwan.

As to current COO. MK appears to have jumped onto the Asian bandwagon for a lot of stuff that used to be made in Europe. Theyve also really expanded their catalog in the last 5 years and maybe going to Asia was the fastest way to grow?. Their current extender is Asian, BUT Im 99% sure the original was made in Germany when it launched years ago. A while ago I saw some NOS Extenders in the old paper packaging on eBay and I believe COO was marked as Germany, the current offering is packed in a plastic "hanger" style package.
