Hi Jeff, here's a few of my favorites. Top to bottom is a Williams, S-K and then an Epstein's. All are XLNT.

That double ended Crescent is cool! You're missing 10" in Crescent :p

Yes it is, and yes I am, sort of; I do have a 10 in the double ended wrench! :D

The 8-10 I had to get a jaw and thumb wheel out of a donor 10" (So I technically HAVE a 10..) which was tricky as it is the older "fat head" design, and not so common, but I managed to find one.

As you see I only have 6 of the 10 inch Crescents LOL
The chrome 10" Crescent was given to me by my dad's mechanic along with a pair of Channellock 420s, when I was four years old!

Found one Jeff! :p I was digging for something else, and it was sitting in the "rustzone" getting soaked with PB blaster trying to free the thumb-wheel from the pin.. (I get maybe 1/16 of a turn, and the jaw is free, but not there on the wheel...)

I bought this Snap On adjustable wrench during Bike Week in Daytona about 1992. It cost $20. (at that time a Craftsman cost $14).

The convention center in Daytona used to be rented out by Harley Davidson for 4-5 days for displays etc. each year for Bike Week until the big Harley fad ended. That year they had a table with S-O Harley Davidson tool kits with popular sizes for a Harley fastenings for a road tool kit. I forget what they cost but they were expensive. I also think they didn't sell many and they could be sold for more today ?????

I imagine this was going to be one of those "at the dealer only" deals. I don't remember if the tools had Harley Davidson on all of them or not. This was near the growing top of Harley popularity when everything Harley was in demand with waiting lists for bikes etc. This was also the height of the Harley fad with Harley Beer, Harley cigarettes, Harley pop corn etc. etc.

sorry...I didn't mean to hijack this thread...... Anyway the adjustible wrenches were $20 and I also bought a small 1/8 inch screw driver (orange handle) with Harley Owner's Group and Snap On on the handle. The screw driver had the little clip for your pocket; it was either $3 or $5. I carried both of those tools on me at work till I retired in 2007.

Back to the adjustable wrench...it is VERY smooth even after 20 years !

Are we going for quality, quantity, or size here? Adjustable wrenches are handy, don't get me wrong, I have a few too, but like anything, you can have too many.

I haven't seen an original Bahco yet, I have one. This pic is from AA, I'm too lazy to take one tonite.

I posted this wrench in a previous thread but i finished it today after work. I decided against glass beads and just wire wheeled it with a brass wheel. A little bit of lube on the moving parts and it opens with just one finger.

The penny should give you an idea of how thick the jaws are. They are flush with it at the top and widen as you go down.

I'm guessing its quite old but AA was no help. They don't even list a 15" wrench in the articles.

Outlaw,

Nice double end Crescent wrench you have there. I had one of those a few months ago i picked up for 5 bucks in some guys basement storage room. My dad really like it so i gave it to him since he has a collection of them. If i find anymore, i'm keeping them. :D

Here are a couple that I found at garage sales.

Older Craftsman, neat little Kraeuter and an old Blue Point/Snap-On.

I swear I am going off the 10 step GJ tool page and start looking for Beanie Babies or something. But then again do they come holding some kind of tool in their hands?

Here's mine, I like the finish on them, not a natural finish but not quite a full on chrome finish. According to Snap On's site, the current ones are Spanish made, mine are USA.

Let me introduce you guys to the nicest adjustable wrench made. Guys, meet the Nepros adjustable. Chrome like no other, smooth as butter and complete industrial art.
It is so nice, i am reluctant to put her into duty. And i have had this one for well over a year. Isn't she beautiful.

Was that thing in a shadow box on the wall or does it live in your toolbox?:lol_hitti

Thats a cool looking wrench and i myself would be hesitant to start using it and getting it dirty. I think thats why i buy used tools at estate/garage sale. They have already gone through that stage and are ready to use.

Here is what comes to mind at the moment-can't pass one of them up at yard sales/swap meets. This count stands at about 60 pieces and I probably have at least another 60 shoved in the clean tank, other tool boxes and to be found in the garage, shed etc. I know that I have 2 24" c-man's and a small 2" out in the tool box.:shocking::evil:

It lives in the box with all the other tools, i have a dozen others in various sizes that get well used. I Bought that one when i was on a Nepros Kick last year some time, it was $35.00 and a wonderful deal at that for the amazing quality that it is. I believe the Nepros brand has had a large price increase since then. It does get used on occasion, but only in the clean room room when assembling space shuttle parts made from unobtanium and titanium.;)

Honestly, in my construction tools, i use the Channelock adjustable that was made in Spain the most, it is a great wrench. In my box, i am fond of an old proto i picked up at a swap meet, other then that, i am all old crescent from 4" to 18".
Carry on.

How are the HJ Epstien adjustables? I have been considering upgrading my chinese set for awhile now.

I have been looking at the:

HJE's
Craftsman
Bahco's

Is there something else in that price range that is of good quality?

NMK I just listed some Craftsman adjustables for a low price in my classified ad. You can view it here http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=145660

The only bad thing would be shipping to you.
