This is an old Facom adjustable that I have in my garage box. I am a big fan of Facom gear and I have a lot of it in my garage box, I personally would put it on a par with Snapon or any of the main german brands but this has to be the worst tool I have ever picked up. It just feels all wrong in your hand and it has a huge head but a very small opening. Also as you can see in the photos you can’t take apart the head to clean it which is probably why it feels so rough to open and close.

You can dismantle it - there are two detent balls that keep worm in place - push them with tiny screwdriver to remove worm and then lower jaw

Thanks very much for that info I’ll defo have a go at that tomorrow. Your 100% correct about the fabrication of the tool itself, there is very little wobble in the jaws but mine will benefit from a good clean when I dismantle it. I’m not sure about the age of it but it looks to have a lot of work done.

This article makes it sound like when they closed the Enköping factory in 2006, that was the end of Swedish made Bahco adjustable wrenches. I wouldn't mind being proven wrong since I've always heard good things about the Swedish made wrenches and finding some new production ones would be nice.

Good to know. I had bought sweden wrenches as of 2016. Guess they were leftover stock, and i assumed they were still producing in sweden. My mistake.

Do you really think Snap on, who owns bahco, that already makes identical adjustable wrenches: is going to go to another outside company and pay them to make a wrench for them? you are truly ignorant if you think that is the case.

Go buy a couple and compare them. there isn't one single thing in common with Irega and Bahco. Not one single thing. Not the jaw tower, not the jaw opening, not the thickness, not the jaw profile, not the pin, not the pin retention methods, Hell not even the angles are the same. We haven't even touched on the fine details yet.

For the last time. Snap on adjustable wrenches are Made by bahco in spain. Prior to that was Sweden, and prior to that USA. They have never been, nor will ever be made by Irega.

Oh, since you won't believe any facts I say, or pictures I post, answer me this. How does Irega get to use the Ergo Trademark that Bahco owns the rights to?

ya know, that thing that has the little TM stamped after the name and is used exclusively on Bahco tools. Look close at the handles in the pics and you'll see it. Imagine the lawsuit snap on will have when they find out Irega is stealing there products............ So snap on Spain, Snap on sweden, Bahco Spain, and Bahco Sweden are all identical and snap on Owns Bahco, yet Irega supposedly makes them for Snap on? Quit Regurgitating ****. Thanks.

Apparently I have. The history on these is interesting to say the least. I've never really investigated much time into Snap-on's adjustable wrenches. I own four of them, all of which were free, and really have no issues with any of them. One of them is a 15" chrome from the 1960s (my father's) which is still in great shape. The other 15" I owned had to be warrantied, and so it's one of those cheaper Blue-Point 15" they sell (GAJ15A). As adjustables go I don't really have an issue with the quality on either one.

I have two real Snap-on's (soft grip) --- one is the Snap-on Spanish 12" (FADH12B) and one is the no longer made 8" Wide Mouth (ADHWT8A) with the ultra thin jaws.

I haven't found any issues with the fitment or the worm drives on the Snap-on. Once you crank them down on something, they don't let go.

The B version isn't for Bahco. They have an A version made by them as well. It's just the second iteration of the wrench.

From the patent it looks like your USA wrenches were made back in the early 80s and onwards. Before my time.

Chrome handled ones are dated 2000 and 1999, soft grip use's were purchased off the truck in 2002 or so...

I use Bahco adjustables almost every day and I swear by them. I have never used a snapon because i have never seen one for sale. I would be interested to know do you find the flank drive to be a better wrench?

only on rounded and rusted fasteners. I prefer the older usa made smooth jaws if I don't want to absolutely destroy something. the flank drive teeth really mar up a delicate surface..

IREGA and IRIMO are not the same. IREGA is a Spanish independent producer, frequently producing for other brands, like Channellock. While IRIMO, also Spanish, is a member of SNA Europe (which is a member of Snap-on Inc.).
IRIMO is having production plants in Spain, producing various tools for various brands of SNA Europe and Snap-on. That's why some Bahco and Snap-on adjustable wrenches are made in Spain and look identical. That is also why some other IRIMO and BAHCO wrenches are same.

I just picked this up yesterday, didn't even know what it was until I was done using it to remove a vice from a basement workbench at my Dad's house. No idea of the age, and don't know if it was his or my grandfather's, but it's mine now!

The jaws are milled to a point for more clearance. Handy for hydraulic fittings on valves, etc.

I am just showing two pieces received this month.
Both classic, Gedore made in Germany, Bahco made in Spain.
Both show some small damages on jaws, adjustability of Bahco is impressively smooth and precise.

What I really need now is a King ****!
