Here are a couple Heritage items with nice decals that have survived the intervening years, picked up by me recently.

And this very nice tack hammer

And yet another 3d top chest falls in my lap. This one was $10 and only 5 minutes away. The date code is 1955.

Brian

Nice three drawer Brian. Better to have it fall in your lap than on your head. Seriously though, nice pick up during this corona lock-down.

Love that Craftsman light bmw....and the tack hammer looks really good too. A hammer handle is a tough place for a decal to survive all these years. Ed.

You can't post a photo of a logo and leave us hanging like that! What's it attached to?

Here you go... It's an old, painted 2d top chest. I don't know anything about it yet. I was mostly interested in the old Craftsman tools that came with it. Didn't come with a key, so I'll take the lock to get one made.

Funny story ... The seller had a bump on his head that he explained was the the result of trying to take that chest off a high shelf. He wasn't sorry to see it gone :lol_hitti

Very nice! Your box dates from ca. 1950-52, according to catalog illustrations. From 1953 onward, they did away with the front drawer cover.

Here's a capture from the 1952 catalog.

Awesome, thanks Brian! Even though it's painted red, it is still Machinery Grey on the bottom. And it obviously didn't come with the lift-out "tote" tray. Thanks for the catalog snippet!

I looked through this thread and didn't see any yellow versions of the Heritage logo, like the logo on the anniversary hat pins. Does anyone know if the logo was originally supposed to be yellow or something?

Not to my knowledge. There were several variations of the Heritage logo but I've not seen a yellow one. Looks like they took some poetic license with those pins.

Bought this nice brace today. Craftsman professional brace. Still in the box and barely looks used if at all. Has some original bits with caps still on them and also has some Irwin bits in the box as well, which I believe was the oe? Paid $15 and am pleased!

Here are 3 Heritage 1/4” drive sets. The middle one came in a recent trade. It has a Circle H breaker and an unmarked ratchet. I think that may be how it came. The one on the left is Circle H and the one on the right is all =v=.

Smokes: Nice find. Anything in original packaging is worth the snag.

Don: Nice trifecta there. All three tommy bars!

OOB: I'm currently refurbing one of those little 8" saws. Original owner was my wife's grandpa. Saw will be going to my daughter.

Very cool (and unique) log on that thing. I have one of those but certainly not in that good of shape. I threw in it a Long C carpenter box based on the logo. Thanks for looking it up! ****, now I have to move it to a different box!!!!

Nice Craftsman brace but as usual the poor Dunlap brace is chopped right out of the catalog image. No respect.:(

And now because I have the brace, I have to find a full run of the bits... thanks collecting ocd[emoji23]. They did make a similar brace in the long c era but not this exact model I believe, based on the bands next to the chuck

Don- we have love for your Dunlap brace, I just wanted to get as close to the wording on this as possible[emoji6]

Smoke, I have a lot of the bits with that blue cap. And a couple of the metal long c holders. They are both pretty beat up, but next time we do an exchange I will bring them along.

GJ Gurus, what’s the distinction between the heritage logo with the two lines on either side of the logo and those without them?

Do you have a specific picture of said item by chance ? In most instances, both logos ran at the same time...depending on the items, sometimes it was more clean to put just the oval on a tool chest .. take for instance this 10 drawer top chest and 8 drawer lower roller...for whatever reason, the top chest has the heritage logo with the equal signs on both sides while the lower roller has no equal signs. I believe this to be the only logo in this size that ever on a heritage lower roller with 8 drawers.

Smoke,

Thank you for responding. Yes I do have photos but I think I need one more comment before I can post pictures. So here’s post number 4.

My wife was painting rocks for people to pick up when they walk by our house. I asked her if she could paint me a heritage logo. If you look at this straight on, it looks like the logo on the wall cabinet and 8 drawer lower roller. If you view the sides you can see the heritage equal signs

Very nice! Maybe she’s on to something. I’ll have to check the sides of the badge for hidden =.

Hi Don,

Thank you. I did see Honza’s cabinet and it’s been inspiring. I have a picture of it on my cell phone for reference. Mine is a different model I think 52 or 54 based on some GJ research. I also grabbed this catalog shot from earlier posts. Not everything is correct as I’m trying to fill it with mostly =v= marked tools. IMG_0929.JPG

There does seem to be a few versions of the wall cabinets. If you run into a roadblock, send me a PM. I have quite a bit of =v= stuff left although Honza lightened the load a bit.

I found what I think is a Craftsman Heritage carpenters wall cabinet. You can see the holes and rivet in the door where the emblem was, and the silver/blue paint. What puzzles me is that it has a wood back, no peg board. Can't find one that has the wood back? Would like to know about what year it is.

Thanks
Bob

Here is a picture of my wall cabinet... oh wait, I don’t have one [emoji849][emoji23] of either the mechanics or wood workers.

Ha! [emoji23] I found this one on offer up for $30 so I immediately purchased it and picked it up. I have a eclectic collection of vintage tools but nothing that could be considered a “set”. So this is my first venture down that path. I’ve seen yours and others collections on these pages and they are truly incredible.
