Your Hinsdale branded example is quite rare. You'd think that pieces like yours and other pieces from that era (both variants of Vlchek's 1/2" WSSR10, Vlchek 3/8" WSRL6, and SK 40170 are easy examples) would be highly sought after and command significant money. Sadly, they don't.
I would pay up for that ratchet, it’s quite cool!

Circle F offset screwdriver which I believe originally might have been 4 way. Made by Millers Falls according to the Lauver chart.

Wow, looks like someone pulled the right hand bit out. (Or pushed from the other side)

I posted four similar MF ones here.

My money is on another "listing ended by seller because the item is no longer available," the vaguest, most convoluted, ridiculous, and yet hilarious ouroboros of logic I have ever had the misfortune of seeing the English language formulated to mean "unsold," but you never know, there are some deep pockets buyers out there, too.

Picked this up today. Not too many Craftsman repulsion motors floating around:

It was attached to this 8" table saw:

Runs fantastic. Remarkable condition! Code number 315. this motor was made by Diehl manufacturing company in New Jersey. Diehl was eventually purchased by Singer sewing machine, and then in 1988 was purchased by Ryobi becoming the foundation for their American Products.

Glad this one worked out for you! Heck of a condition for something that old

You know it Smoke! You got the sneak peek lol. Seller said he got multiple calls from guys wanting the motor only and at a reduced price, he declined them all knowing he would not be able to sell the table saw without a motor.

Nice find Hoorn. I really like those old Diehl motors. That's an interesting one you've got there. I've never seen a 2850 rpm Diehl.

Here is a very interesting accessory. The Craftsman motor was attached to this motor mount:

The top plate is loosely attached to the base and rides back and forth as you turn the knob. Cast iron, top plate is thick steel. The screws closest to the knob are in there original mount holes, the other two were drilled and placed there at some point to match the Craftsman motor. I checked the cast number on the bottom of the base and can't locate anything on the internet as to who may have made it. 35379B.
It works well, I imagine it would make belt changes a breeze, and it's efficient.

Well technically most of this stuff is not long C but it's all in the same picture so I'll post it anyway...

Circle U 1/2" ratchet, 3/8" BE ratchet, a couple circle H 3/8 sockets, and a few V series DOEs plus a pre V.

We understand. It's a lot of trouble for just one shot to run to the drugstore for another roll of film; spend a week shooting up the other 23 or 35 shots; take the film back to the drugstore for development; wait another week for it to get back to you--oh wait a minute--that was the 1950s!
Never mind. :lol_hitti

Hey it’s a lot of work to walk all the way downstairs and take another picture!

That red thing looks sort of like a wall mount knife sharpener. You drag the blade through in the direction of the arrow. There is a similar tool mounted to the wall in the cabin my grandfather built back in the forties and a deep cut in the t&g paneling right below it, from where the knives hit the wall. That one only has one slot though. So, I may be guessing wrong.

At first, I was guessing that the folding ruler was long C Craftsman; but I was wrong. I recently bought something from an eBay seller who does have one of those that was made by Craftsman back in the early thirties. The opening bid price seems reasonable and it is the style with the cool little brass pull-out end on it. (The seller was very easy to deal with).

It is definitely a knife sharpener. I have one arounder here somewhere with the same patent number (2,495,361) on it, not Craftsman, all steel, that you similarly screw to a wall or butcher block. Alfred E. Anheuser (no relation to the beer family as far as I know).

Thanks Lugz and apologies to all for being out of touch.
The rule was for display scale purposes (ala the red die).
A couple pics show the abrasive surface in the center with springs and balls for tension.
At first I thought course/fine, it looks more like left /right, kitchen use.
I'll try it out with my sod knife tomorrow.
