To my knowledge, there's not much out there as far as pre-war Craftsman advertising. This is my first attempt on creating some. If I get the technique down to where I'm satisfied with it I plan on making some tool boards.

That is beautiful work, Scott! If you decide to make any to sell, please add me to the list of those who are interested!

One of my first long c tools. 15” 1/2 dr breaker bar BE. I love this logo. Gothic style. I have many tools all 3 drives but I need some socket cases. Definitely looking. Also have some other long c goodies to dig up and photograph. Love this logo and the tools.

Here's something you don't see everyday - Craftsman X-5, 13/16" x 7/8" DBE wrench, purchased off eBay. According to AA, this was made by Hinsdale ca. 1933-34. The catalog illustration from 1933 leaves much to be desired.

It's going to take a lifetime to try and complete this set!

That is a nice wrench. Congrats. Craftsman must be a fun brand to collect as there is so many variants out there. Always keeps you busy.

Looking for a Plomb 3061 Pebble Open End.

I'd overlooked that illustration while looking at the stubby DBEs. I think my brain registered them as ignition wrenches and I didn't read the text. They must have assigned that drawing to the new guy. Nice find and good luck completing the set!

Yesterday I took a trip to purchase this pre-war, Craftsman 3/4" drive socket set containing sockets up to 2". Most of the Craftsman tools are marked "BM", along with a few marked with a circle-K - including a post-war, 3/4" drive breaker bar, which is very difficult to find as they were sold separately from the sets.

The set is now in a period-correct box, which I've been hiding just for this occasion, containing sockets from 1-1/16" through 1-5/8" (two sockets are circle-k), as well as the correct sliding T-bar and extensions I added to complete the set.

I am looking for the following sockets stamped 'BM': 1-1/16", 1-5/8", 1-3/4".

Pictures 4 & 5 are of the actual set I purchased, as I found it.

Pictures 6 & 7 are captures from the 1942 catalog.

Rethreaded some screws for a be set i have ,was missing the thumb screws. Apparently they are 6-40 thread. Everything available now is 6-32. Found a 6-40 die and some 6-32 brass thumb screws and made up a set.
