Those look nos!
Got a nice set of 3/8 BE recently. Cleanest I ever saw!
The 3/8” socket I was missing arrived today. I just need the extension now.

Nice set Don. Is the handle on that flex driver original? It's in great shape.

[emoji106]Here is my early set with the extension Roy sent me added. Now I just need the original flex spinner that Gear Wolf generously offered.

Turned up with these Craftsman BE sockets in a box of randoms (I promised myself I would retire from the practice of buying odd lots, but I lie to myself a lot...). The whole box was $5, so what the heck....right?
Curious of the finish on the ones that appear almost aluminum. Is this a nickel plate for the war era?
Equally intrigued by the bronzish "patina" on the others. Baked on grime? or representative of a finish other than chrome?
The top row are 8 point, and the bottom 12 point. All are 1/2 drive and the 3 smaller sockets are Circle H, the balance are BE
I agree with JoCo. The brown preservative is typical of what New Britain used over plain steel and the other sockets are cad plated.

Thanks guys! Better left intact as a "historical archive"? or cleaned off?
I received my $14.95 spinner in the mail today and I’m very happy with it since it completes the set.

I’ll post it over on the 1/4” drive thread.
