This toolbox cost me a lot of money, but I think it's awesome.
This box is simple and beautiful in design, with a sense of professionalism, very practical for storage, very convenient to carry, and will look very neat when placed anywhere.

It has a design style, a futuristic sense of technology, and a complete range of accessories.

This tool kit includes a 16.8V brushless drill with a smart LED display that can precisely control torque, which is perfect for various repair and assembly jobs. For those who are not very familiar with tools, this feature is particularly friendly and can help you better master the skills of using them.71KlsRjoikL.jpg71yTJliu66L.jpg
And next you're going to tell us you have no affiliation with the company that makes the kit and you purchased it with your own money?

This toolbox didn't cost me a lot of money, but I think it's awesome.

It has absolutely no design style, an anachronistic sense of technology, and no accessories of any kind except for rust dust.

I think more companies should come out with the bottom box similar to the Kobalt. Pretty cool

I'm honestly waiting on US General to come out with one before I buy their current mini toolbox.

Given how full my Kobalt one is, I think it's time I ordered the Kobalt bottom.

Basically, it holds the knives and tools that often fill my pockets.

KIMG1240.JPG

Inside lid:

Basically--screwdrivers, flashlights, Knipex 125mm Cobra and Pliers Wrench--plus a DMT "Extra Fine" pocket sharpener and writing instruments.

Sticker is from some random Kobalt tool. Since many higher-end boxes have a large decal inside the lid, I decided I'd add one.

The extra tiny pliers--more of a joke than anything. Hobby Lobby has an eight-piece tool set in the dollhouse miniatures including a screwdriver, hammer, Crescent Wrench, pipe wrench, saw, and functional tin snips and pliers) housed in a terrible "pop crate" toolbox. I plan to add these to one of the Crown Premiums mini Snap-On boxes when I get one cheap.

Way too many knives.

I'm really fond of Klein (made by Moki in Japan) and Gerber LST (mostly '80s and '90s ones) lightweight folders--as well as Schrade and Camillus.

Also two "Alox" Victorinox Classics (smooth one is a Companion--and has no keyring--so great for pocket carry)

KIMG1242.JPG

Multitools (Victorinox SwissTool, Spirit XC, Leatherman Rebar), the full-size Gerber LST, a Schrade USA 6OT, Spyderco Saver Salt, some cheap tape measures, and a pair of nail clippers. Plus the Knipex 140mm Combination Pliers under that stuff.

However, I mostly carry the SOG PowerPint these days.

Was in HF earlier this evening, zero mini boxes. More coming tomorrow, allegedly. I'm sure they'd be gone before I get there.

Right, I've checked HF website a few times over the past few weeks. I've tried all colors and looked up different stores in the area (and I just checked again before making this post today). It keeps saying "Currently Unavailable - Check Back Soon."

I've also visited two different stores. I have a minimum 30-minute drive to get to any of these stores, so I only go if there's something I truly need at the moment (rare), or am in the area of a store for something else.

K60ANV I think?
One day I'd love to pick up one of the larger versions with the side doors. Super cool!
You are correct 👍🏻 K60 ANV

Import or USA-made? I know that most of Snap-On's mini boxes are imports, but with Matco's main in-house product being toolboxes, it may be different.
The newer Snap on top chest & cabinets are, but mine says Kenosha USA 95…

Still just in the prototyping phase but I've been working on modding a Kobalt mini box. I've added drawer sliders, a lid stopper to keep the lid upright when open, and rubber feet to prevent it from sliding around.

The slides are pretty cool as the drawers open further than the HF box or a kobalt box but I had to cut out all the original internals and make 3d printed brackets to hold them so it was basically a complete overhaul.

Pics are slightly outdated as I'm currently redesigning the corner trim pieces.

Do you have a link to the drawer slides you used?

Just got back home from a run up to Harbor Freight. They had just received a shipment of their "US General" mini tool boxes - they had piles of them.
Another customer was taking one out of the package and checking it out. We both agreed the top compartment is useless other than for maybe a few pencils.
They were about $18 bucks.
Neither one of us bought one.

I am really surprised at how popular these are, or maybe how badly the suppliers under estimated the market for them.

Harbor Freight has given up listing availability on line. Usually they will show the nearest store if the local doesn't have an item. Instead when you search for the boxes it just says "Currently Unavailable Check Back Soon".

I got one of the Kobolt boxes last week since I was near Lowes. They only had a couple of the blue ones. Good for me because blue is what I was looking for, but only about 5 boxes in one color on a shelf made to hold maybe 40 boxes. I walked past it twice not seeing them. They were in a weird location, not by the tools or larger tool boxes.

I stopped by the local HF today to grab something else, and saw that they at least have a box on display with a max 2 per customer sign.

I asked about the boxes. The guy said they are getting them, but they sell out in hours. He said the last delivery they got 20 and all were gone in less than 2 hours.

The Kobolt box now holds my desk clutter at the computer, pens, nail clippers, thumb drives etc.

So are these little tool boxes the Tickle Me Elmo of 2024?

^ That store up on 6th Ave must have had at least a hundred of them. They were stacked about eight high, two rows across, and four rows deep on the aisle I was standing in when I was looking at the other guy opening one up, and there was another huge pile of them back where the big roll-around boxes were. Looked like they were all black.

Went to HF today for a tarp, didn't see any mini boxes, and not really interested at full price (LOL). I think that's the thing with these (including Lowe's): the BF deals are great, then no one wants to pay full price after missing out on the sale price.

I'm definitely guilty of this. I don't "need" these, so I'm more than OK with having to wait until next year to try my luck hunting one down.

Just a hunch, but given how popular these turned out to be, I got a feeling they will never be $10 again for BF or otherwise. Maybe I'll be proven wrong but that's my gut feeling.

That said, there will still be sales like right now's 30% off coupon any item under $20 for ITC members (limit 5) that can bring the price down to where if it's something you actually want / have a use for, it's worth getting.
