We got California-labelled Plywood a couple years ago. It claimed that plywood "May contain wood fibers, which are known to cause cancer in California". Funny on a whole bunch of levels.
And, as a bonus, I got to tell my safety guy we were afraid to use it, and ask about appropriate P.P.E.

Isn't the wording normally "...known to the state of California to cause cancer"?

I know the idea of substances causing cancer only in California is comical, but that's not what those Prop 65 warnings are suggesting.

Need review.

Do they work as nicely as they look?

I've got a couple of their older style, and for the money, you can't beat em.

I haven't used this 3/8-drive yet, but I do have a 1/4-drive 90t I have used a couple times and it's great. It feels great in my hand, and I don't have any complaints on how it operates. I have no idea how it compares to truck brand or other professional ratchets because I have never used one, but I like them better my old Craftsman stuff (early-mid '90s).

Stopped by FFH and grabbed a few more things. After going through the tool box in the enclosed trailer, I figured that I could spend a few more bucks. I'll grab a picture when I get home.

Another 1/4" drive extension set, 8" adjustable wrench, lineman pliers and large needle nose locking pliers.

Off-the-cuff paraphrasing, but the real funny was that plywood may contain wood fibers.
We all know the California lawmakers and bureaucrats are, well, "special" and do not accurately represent the intellectual abilities of the populace.

Funny, I absolutely hate that same tape measure, gave it away in fact. That’s why they make different ones[emoji23]

Well the long nightmare is over. I finally have a coveted Dual 80. Actually 2 now. I have been trying to find a good deal on one for years. Since I'm not a pro wrencher, I couldn't justify the cost.

Drove an hour and a half each way to buy an FLF80, but wound up buying this FX80A and a SL80A. They had some use and some scratches, but after a light buffing they look as good as new.

Does the selector work backwards like the Tekton 72t or HF ratchets?

Or is it like a normal ratchet? Looking at the selector - 'on' (clockwise) to the left and 'off' (counter-clockwise) to the right?

I'm going off memory now, but I believe it work like the Snapon ratchet pictured. I will verify when I get back home tonight (at my son's water polo practice now).

Edit: I checked, and they do in fact work like the Snapon pictured. The older 72t are indeed opposite.

I've noticed alot of import rachets have selector switches that work "backwards."

Yeah first I noticed one like that was with a HF ratchet one of the guys that works for me has. He really likes it but it drove me crazy the only one time I tried to use it in the field. Every single time I would flip the selector the wrong (right) way, many times subconsciously right after having corrected it the right (wrong) way. Did not even want to start to get used to it. None of my Craftsman, Snap-on, Matco, Williams, Kobalt (Williams) ratchets have selectors like that.

FFwd a couple years later I bought a flex Tekton 72t off Amazon after seeing good things about it here and was dismayed to find it also had a backwards selector. I wound up giving it to the same guy who works for me. Of course he loves it. To each their own.

Got the impact last week and used it a bit. Like it a lot. Boot came today. Im not too happy that the boot is made in China especially considering the $22 price (probably cost them a dollar to make it). All the trucks and IR source boots from USA. Oh well.

Seeing as Milwaukee's tools themselves are made in China, not sure why it would matter that the protective boot was too. Probably better for both cost and quality control if they are made in the same vicinity as the tools they are meant to fit.

IR, MAC, Snap-On, and Matco make tools in China and Taiwan and all the (USA) made boots fit them fine. Ironically they're also cheaper. Quality is fine here too. Just seems slightly slimy. I doubt the $22 premium they charge for a piece of molded rubber is reflected in the chinese factories wages or work conditions.

OK I guess I get that.

FWIW I believe some if not all of those do have some of their production facilities in the US. Does Milwaukee make anything at all in the US? :dunno:

Snap-on makes their cordless line in the US, and at least some of MAC's cordless, like their Dewalt counterparts, are made in USA with global materials. Not sure about IR and does Matco make anything themselves?

I ordered a couple of the stubby impacts during the ebay 15% off sale, was tempted to get the boots, but not really sure I want them. I think they would have been better in a color other than black. I am not a fan of red, but I don't want an essentially all black tool, I tend to lose dark colored tools too easily.

i think milwaukee is missing a a marketing opportunity, they could sell neon colored boots anything but black.
I'd like to have a boot for my stubbies but, i just don't like the all black boot :wtf:

The 90t do indeed work like normal ratchets (like the Snapon pictured).

So let's get this right, your really happy with the impact tool that's made in CHINA but have concerns about the rubber boot not being made in the USA? lol :Homer:
