I have their wrenches already and the 120 xp ratchets, this will be the first of their handled tools. They feel very nice and look good but only time will tell. For what I use these for they will be fine, I don't use them for work I just fix all my own stuff and some friends, so I won't be putting them through their paces like a mechanic would.

Perfect. I'm not a mechanic, just enjoy wrenching on my own stuff. Sounds like a good option for me.

I purchased a pair of Klein 1001 stripper/crimpers recently:

Klein 1001 wire stripper-crimper pliers.jpg

While I'm sure they'll work fine for stripping, I thought a better crimper would be in order.
I was actually kind of surprised when I saw the Proamerica - I didn't think they would be that big. They seem to be fairly serious crimpers for $29.

Big time Klein fan boy as arcs and sparks was my profession for 30 yrs. But, the only decent all in one I've ever found was made by panduit. Everything else has not been all the great to pure ****. That one being decent, but no where near the quality of the panduit unit. If I get a chance I'll pull my collection out and snap a side by each pic and you can really tell the difference.

I like how the hex bits are easily removed yet held securely in place. It's also handy to take out one of the bitblocks to carry in your pocket.

I can't afford their bits, but their boxes and blocks aren't too bad.

Item# Product Quantity Each Price
1 970 BitBlock 10 $3.58 $35.80
2 990 BitBox 2 $10.86 $21.72

Over the Holidays...

Amazon was running a Tekton $15.00 off $50.00 Sale, with free shipping...

And no taxes...

HMMM???...said I...

And bought the Tekton 24" 1/2" drive and the 18" 3/8"drive ratchets...

And the Tekton Swivel Head set...

And the Tekton Lo-Profile set, with Stubbies...

After the discount, and the 9% savings on sales tax, and the free freight...

The damage came to $ 131.99!!!

Ten new 72 tooth, quick release, made in Taiwan ratchets for less than fourteen dollars each...

I am a happy camper...(As a DIY'er in my eighth decade of life...Snap-on ain't me...Poor retirees, can't waste money ---- and besides, these will out live me!!!)

HF Drillmaster, 1/2" hammer drill. Variable speed & reversible. Got it + a freebie 25' tape measure for 17$ after the coupon. Great price the few small holes in concrete that I'll have to drill in my life.

Chicago Pneumatic 734H- Got this from a mechanic friend out of pitty when he saw my craftsman impact model 875 would no longer break a socket loose in your hand, even after being lubed religiously and a cleaning. Hopefully this outlasts my cman, seems like a quality older gun made in japan. https://scontent-ord1-1.**.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfl1/v/t34.0-12/12782040_10207334822346887_75908336_n.jpg?oh=1db191258662c24a7290b6f0c352e263&oe=56D61807

Hey, who makes those real long pliers pictured in post #31383 above?

They look like they might have dark blue grips and what kind are the ones on the right?

Ok, I have to ask what is a plunger can?:dunno:

Wife and I swung by our local Sears outlet two weekends ago in anticipation of our move to a new house last weekend. She got a new couch and I got this :)

189.99 for the black set and I added a red middle for 29.99.

And they brought the boxes with the couch delivery so I didn't have to move them twice. Win-Win!!

You did really well on that, I just bought that same bottom box for work for $149.99.

It's made in the USA, too.

Found this Grizzly G4000 9x19 lathe on craigslist for $250. Included 3 and 4 jaw chucks, live and dead centers and the stand. The tailstock isn't in the picture and neither is the crossslide leadscrew since it's bent and needs replacement. I replied to the ad about 15 minutes after it was posted. When I got there the guy said someone called right after me. Lucky timing

Indeed, with the M390 blade. I haven't had one that hard yet, so we'll see how it goes. I have a fetish for really really sharp knives...

Cabela's has an exclusive Mini Barrage with D2 steel and it comes in blaze orange so it's easily found when dropped. I want it bad.

Paid $35 to some guy on Craigslist. Everything shown is made in USA, Germany, or Japan. The Channellock 420s are marked "Champion DeArment" but the most interesting piece is the L-shaped Ford wrench. 45a29a30ad5fcecb057a829ad167df73.jpg
The other third of stuff I got is junk and will be donated.

Man, those Benchmades are slick!

My dad gave me a griptilian when I was 15 or so and I fell in love with them ever since. The action is just so smooth. I ended up setting it up so I can flick it out without touching the blade. I just decided it was time for me to try one of their assisted opening knives.

Personally I wouldn't like an orange handle, I carry mine everywhere everyday and something orange sticking out of my pocket seems like it would clash a bit. Besides, I don't always want to draw attention to the fact that I have a knife. But for hunting and being outdoors and the like, I agree 100% having something easily found if dropped at night is essential. Its just not an EDC color.
