Malco LP10R locking pliers - bought a couple pairs of these a couple months ago. buddy came over and saw them. I sent one home with him so I had to get another pair.

Signode Steel Strapping Co. Catalog No. 14 (Signode is the outfit that makes the gizmo you tie the banding around the pallet with and the gizmo to cut the strapping and the little widget that secures the end of the strapping.)

1939 Dazey model 80 "DeLuxe" wall-mount can opener. Missing the mounting bracket, as all them apparently are, so I have to find a bracket to mount this retro beauty. (More on this subject later.)

Brower Mfg. Co., Chattanooga, TN 6-inch pliers-wrench. Very interesting design.

And finally, the kind of tool required to get my head dialed in right: Too Slim and the Taildraggers Blues for Eb. Found a slightly used copy dirt cheap. One of the best ***-kickin' bar bands on the local circuit - I think they were out of Spokane. Was always a treat when they played gigs locally. Highly recommended, gentlemen: jams like Dollar Girls, Drinkin' Blues, and Waitin' for the Sun to Shine can be just the ticket to bliss.

YMMV

Sunex puts out pretty good tools imo (other reviews seem to support this opinion). I have a couple of Sunex 3/8" crow's foot flare nut wrenches that got me through some very tough/tight 1960s Buick brake line fittings.
I have a full set of metric 3/8 drive swivel impact sockets from sunex. A good 30 years old. Work great never had an issue.

Sounds like a terrible mean guy.....all those tools and didn't give you a box to put them in.

@Maxcustody what is your plan? Are you keeping all the tools or will you be selling off duplicates or things you don't want/need?

Regardless looks like it is time for a bigger box in that shop.
As a Matter of fact I have his box as well. He passed away unexpectedly February 18th. He was my best friend and I am honored to have his tools.

Bought HF US General 34" tool cart. I set up the top drawer as a charging area for batteries and phone.
Got a power strip with on/off button for each outlet so I wouldn't have all units on when only charging one battery.
I color coded the chargers and switches to avoid confusion. Mounted the power strip by gluing 2 magnets to the back of it power box.jpgpower 2.jpgpower 3.jpgpower 1.jpghe back of it.

My 12-year-old rolled his eyes on the name of that candle, didn't even bother to read past the punchline. Pretty sad when a tween doesn't even laugh at an obviously adolescent joke (or what would have been, back in this Gen X / geezer's day...).

Thanks. Nice setup.

Lights, seem to be a lot of space to commit to chargers and batteries to me.
but that's just me.

Not sure if I'm just missing out on a joke, but...

I could see where that could be handy. Those chargers take up real estate, no matter where you put them. Yes, I could think of cheaper ways to accomplish that (than dedicating the top of a brand new box), but if you're short on real estate, and power tools are a big enough part of your toolkit, this makes sense to me.

When I started looking for inspection stuff after getting the surface plate, I came across the Hermann Schmidt surface gage.

Clearly a very nice tool that would outlast me. Everything they make is of the highest quality. More searching for a good deal and I discovered this was actually made by Murkens Precision Tool. They sell direct for a significantly lower price. I sent an email, and they quickly answered my questions. If I understand correctly, Dave Jr. is making these. UPS just dropped this off:

Really nice tool that will be a pleasure every time I use it.

That can opener is cool. Swing-A-Way was the brand to have around here, I still use a hand held one. Wife will not let me mount one on the wall. They work better and will outlast anything electric powered.

These would have come in handy recently when I was doing the PCV gizmo on the family Volvo:

I grabbed the old part out of the bin - if I'd had these my Carlyle bit ratchet would have worked well at the time:

I feel like I've got pretty solid bit game now... (a bit kit?)
