I had two surprise packages delivered today. My birthday is Sunday so it looks like some early tool presents arrived. I’m super excited to use these. Especially the sockets. I’ve heard some great things about these so I’m pumped. One of the things I’ve needed for along while and have just borrowed or got by with a normal universal joint. Some members on my other forum sent these. One is a member here too. The member here sent me the three ratchets. Something which will be put to good use too especially the long one. I love ratchets lol. Thanks @demarpaint for the ratchets. I will be 21 Sunday the 23rd. My niece who I share a birthday with will be 11. Don’t worry we do our cake and presents and stuff separately lol. My birthday is already off to a good start. Thanks guys.
An early Happy Birthday Blake!!

New jewelery, and my first Ko-ken ratchet, and bought from the Mac truck. He asked me a few weeks ago if I was interested in Ko-ken. I said sure, I've read a lot from here, and I could use a stubby flex head 3/8". But no one here in northern Virginia seems to carry anything if you want to handle it before buying. lt's in a 1/4" drive head. I have to admit it feels nice, but he shows up at 4pm on Fridays, so no testing out. All the Honda guys on his route bought them through the week.IMG_20230414_160558147.jpgIMG_20230414_160529719.jpg
Nice! Got one too. Here’s a comparison to my Koken 3/8 stubby.

W Germany? Are those vintage or have they not gotten around to changing the printing dies in the last 30 years ;)
Pretty much all my Heyco items say Germany or W Germany, even the stuff coming out of their Irish factory. I'd imagine Heyco is just kinda too lazy to change their dies or maybe they don't want to give up on the past? I had to scoop those screwdrivers up because I love the green and they have had really positive reviews online. The handle is a bit small but they fit my hand really well which is surprising since I have those gorilla hands machinists are famous for. For less than $75, I feel it was a good purchase. I'm kinda shocked at how expensive some of the Heyco stuff on KC Tool has become. Their sockets and ratchets are now fairly close to Gedore and Stahlwille.

I've been waiting for the release of this Astro ratcheting wrench since I saw this thread last year.

It finally went on sale in Taiwan(Astro Taiwan branch) last Friday. I purchased one and it arrived today. It's 100-tooth and about 455mm(17-7/8") long. Chrome socket set includes 13~19, 21, 22, 24mm. Very happy with it. 😄

Had to pick up a oil filter wrench for the new JD

Let us know how you like it!

Seems like every new oil wrench I try fails in some way... Poor accessibility, slipping, etc. Occasionally, they work great, but the filter is fused to the block and gets destroyed in the process. YES, I oil my gaskets, but I mostly buy used stuff, and apparently no one before me got the memo...

It worked fine earlier today on the first use. Guys over at GTT recommended it for the recessed filter on the 2032.

I picked up a new gen4 1/4" impact to replace my original that was giving out, also picked up a couple of 6.0 batteries that were on sale. I need to pick up a couple of the compact batteries, these are heavy!

Since they're on sale, I grabbed a pair of the Dayton aluminum stands today for an upcoming car-show trip:

I'm not sure if I'll even open them - last year at this event I cracked my gas tank and these would have been handy, and I don't think I can dedicate the space or weight to my Esco/Daytonas. Hopefully I won't need them, so I'll decide later if I'll keep 'em.

A couple weeks ago I'd seen the new Icon mini screwdriver set on the site when they came out, and they showed in stock. I was there to get a set of wrenches, and went to check them out, but they weren't on the screwdriver aisle. What followed was a parade of people going in the back to check, progressing from one of the employees who walked up while I was looking up to the district manager who was in the store that day, all without success. No biggie (and I felt terrible since I was mainly trying to eyeball them). I went back a few days later to get a price adjustment and they still weren't out. One of the managers remembered me and told me they'd honor the price when they were finally out.

I checked as I was getting ready to walk to the register, and they were there. The box doesn't allow for much inspection, but the same manager was there, remembered me and said again he'd honor the price. So they came home with me.

I've had the full-size set for while, and really like the handles. That continues here. I kinda wish the flats built in were able to take a wrench vs. just there to keep them from rolling, but not sure I'd use these like that anyway. They're nicely magnetize too. The tray is really beefy - much more than the wrenches, which seems odd. I won't be using it though.

16 and 32 oz DBBPs in green to match the rest in my drawer. And 2 broken SHLX80A ratchets (one with bent fork but good head and other with straight fork and assumed damaged head missing. Bought a new wrist pin and a fresh rebuild kit and bam a $60 total cost. Already have one of these but wanted one for the road box! The guy I bought them from had a couple buckets worth of broken Snap on stuff for cheap. I may have to head back there tomorow and get one for my dad

What size is the opening on the "ratchet"? I have a snap on and that one is an 11mm. If this is the same it would be nice to add some of the larger sizes.

I added another Snap-On ratchet. The one in the middle is new - FHR80 3/8" Dual 80 soft grip quick release ratchet. Love Snap-On ratchets,20230419_142155 (002).jpg but they are expensive. I like the feel of the soft grip handle better and the ratchets is longer than the chrome grip version as you can see. I feels perfect in my hand and the right length. This will be my favorite go to ratchet.
