Got some new toys at Home Depot. DeWalt Atomic 20v brushless drill/driver and 1/4" impact driver, 2 batteries, charger and bag.
1691025721208.png

On clearance for $125, About $100 off. tucked ALL the way on top of the clearance rack. Another customer had pulled the "employees only" platform ladder over to look up top, He saw three of these stashed up top and pulled them down.
Yeah, I was too lazy to take my own picture.

I had been blowing my work area/driveway with a compressed air hose, or a corded leaf blower. I felt bad when I ordered a DeWalt cordless blower. Do I really need this? Is this just hedonism?

That didn't last long. Awesome thing to have! Sometimes I even use it for yard work! :D

I don't recognize that logo... is your stool not Milwaukee?

No it’s a power built shop stool.I got it because the height. It goes really high to match the height of the Milwaukee workbench because it’s taller than normal and because it was red lol. With that said though I don’t like it.It needs a foot ring around the base because it goes up so high and the seat isn’t comfortable but it rolls good and it’s red so here I am with a pretty chair that ***** to sit in lol.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081TGLLRK/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Got myself some more garden hose quick connects. I hadn't known about them until I found GJ, and at the time, the advice I could find here, by a respected poster, was to pay once/cry once/just get A.M. Leonard. Well I did, and they have been very good. The price hurt, and getting more has always been painful because not only do they cost, the shipping charge has consistently been painful, too.

Luckily, I heard about a free shipping situation lately (with no minimum purchase!), so that helped a lot. Here is a code for you all:

Made in Taiwan, the small, capitalist China. Alas, this subtotal was over $50.

They are a neat company and they are not screwing around; everything in their thick catalog is oriented towards professional gardening/horticultural/landscaping/groundskeeper/arborist types.

BUT... I saw this at the HF website the other day and nearly cried. Wasn't an option when I started out. I have no idea what interchanges with what, and doubt most brands play well with others. I'd recommend starting off cheap and seeing how it works out! On the other hand, the stuff I got has been perfect.

Yep, definitely needs a foot ring.

My stool quest about ten years ago was to find an old fashioned gray steel stool with simple masonite top. Didn't want a cushion, didn't want a gas cylinder, just a danged simple steel stool. Since my area is not deindustrialized/rust belt, such things were not in abundance on Craigslist. Had to by new from Enco.

I love totes/caddys and wanted a new one last year, and it turned into a project! The previous one, I had picked up at Wal-Mart, Sterilite brand. Well, you might know what a zoo their plastic tote/storage aisle can be, and I could not find one there again after a few visits. I forget if I went to a big box hardware store, I often don't. I think this time I did, and still couldn't find one.

Started looking for Rubbermaid and even they wanted to make something special and fancy with big curved holders for detailers'/janitors' spray bottles.

I finally found a straightforward, low cost, but not cheaply constructed (although I can go with cheap for this kind of thing) Akro-Mills on Amazon:

If it makes you feel any better, I tried the HF ones and did not like them.

I have had really good luck with the gorilla brand ones on Amazon. I did have to replace some orings this year but they stay outside year round and I have had them for over 3 years now.

M12 Fuel extended reach. My old 1st gen M12 ratchet finally died on me after years of heavy use. Decided to go with the extended reach version this time around.

IMG_1558.jpeg
it looks like the fat head one. I really wanted a slim head extended but hadn't come out yet. Would've had to buy a slim 1/4 and modify it to make it work.

Thanks for the tip. That should work.

I like the Mueller Kueps version, but I'm not likely going to pay $40+shipping for a plastic tote.

Getting a few auto-adjust vise grips. The Hart (walmart.com) are made in taiwan and the auto-grip are China. As far as I know they're all from either regardless of brand (Palmgren, lockjaw, etc... though I think Hanson owns the patent).

The tolerances and fit and finish is way better on the Taiwan made, to the point I had to grease the Chinese main pin to make them work. My intention was to return the Walmart one since the Auto-grip is same size but I might be keeping them now.

As far as the tool itself, they're nice but the legs open way too wide so that limits their access. It also makes closing them single handedly difficult (even on the 6") if you have smaller hands. The grip assists greatly in this task since it prevents the tool from sliding off your palm. Ideally, I'd recommend getting made in Taiwan w/grip(s); Armor tool makes this combination but not in chrome:

I bought this M12 Hackzall and 2.5Ah High Output battery at Zoro, during their Milwaukee sale. A better deal can be had at Amazon from 3rd party sellers, but none of them is an authorized dealer. I wanted the 5 year warranty that applies when buying from an authorized dealer such as Zoro.

Neat! I had no idea Skilkraft was making that sort of thing.

Wikipedia entry includes this sentence: "In 2015, Skilcraft introduced a new line of products which included screwdrivers and socket wrenches."

Introductory paragraph:

"Skilcraft, often stylized as SKILCRAFT, is the registered trade name of the National Industries for the Blind (NIB).[1] Products made by Skilcraft are created largely by visually impaired or severely disabled individuals. Products bearing the Skilcraft brand are commonly used in United States federal government institutions, including the United States Postal Service. They are also commonly sold in U.S. military base exchanges and commissaries."

Well shoot. Thanks for sharing. It looks like the slim head one has a lower torque output, but I don’t use it for breaking bolts free, so I think the trade off is a good one to make.

I’ll probably return this one in exchange for that, thank you!

I recently bought the 2569.
Have not had a chance to use it yet, but first impressions are good... Well balanced, slim head, and high speed.
