I didn't know Wilton sold a version of that saw. I have a Jet branded one that's a little different. The motor is mounted horizontally above the gearbox. It's so old that Jet won't admit they ever sold it.

Aviation torque adapters are how they're listed. The three I showed are ~$250 total. The bolt I was torquing was 8nm, into aluminum, holding a cam sensor onto a cylinder head. The bolt head faced down, threads facing upwards towards me. So this allowed me to torque it from above with a 12" extension.

Nut driver bits & pry bar set. Both for work, wanted/needed magnetic nut drivers for use with hex head self tappers, tired of dropping them fckrs when in awkward positions. Pry bars are just for very light duty use & really I only wanted 2 sizes but for the price might as well. I couldn't find just the 2 sizes cheaper anywhere else, not even on aliexpress. HF doesn't sell the smallest size separately anyway which might come in handy.

Funny, with the 30% coupon, I paid less for the pry set than the nut drivers. 🤣

Thought this was kinda funny. As much as HD has been locking up stuff & how expensive unibits/step drills costs, why is it that the most expensive MW hanging on the wall doesn't have the lock on them? :D

Not interested in the USA made Hyper Tough (made by Wilde)? Prices are incredibly low. A set of 3 is $23:

For my work, nope not really but thanks.

Often the Walmarts near me don't have the Wilde ones in stock, I have to drive to a Super Walmart like when I picked the scraper yrs ago.

I have the Craftsman Wilde pry bars at home. These HFs are for work, I really only need the 12" & 18" but for the price w/ 30% off & getting the little 8" also is why I bought em (the 24" will be left at home). Paid under $12 for the set. EDIT: They went on sale again this past weekend, got a refund, so under $10 is the new price that I got em for.

I actually like the slimmer handle size & feel of these newer HFs (I have the older ones at home too) compared to the Wilde for my uses (just 3 specific things actually). Not for prying on suspension components or anything needing a lot of force. I work in automotive but not repairs & the vehicles I work on are new. I was just gonna buy a long flat head screwdriver or a tire spoon but these were a much better deal.

You have to add the cost of a can of brake cleaner and a roll of paper towels to get the rust preventative off of those. I dont know what they use, but that junk gets on everything!
Funny you say that, not that I know what you mean.

But here I am trying to rub the Pittsburgh name off mine. Then maybe that well known HF smell will be gone! :ROFLMAO: (j/k of course, these don't have any smell)

A FBMP find. Picked it up this morning.

A drill index carousel from the Union Twist Drill Company out of Athol, MA. Came from the house of a retired machinist, he passed away and his kids were cleaning out the house.

No drills in it, instead the drawers are loaded with miscellaneous hardware; roller pins, carbon motor brushes, cap screws, snap rings, helicoils...a little bit of everything.

I'm so very happy to have this.

Wilton, Jet, Grizzly, HF, Dayton and who knows how many other's rebrand it

I missed a nice Dayton version about a week and a half ago on FBMP for $100.

I'm picking this one up this afternoon and will post a few pictures in my Garage Refurb thread.

LOVE this!! You can just imagine it sitting on the counter of a good old fashioned hardware store that sold individual drill bits or in the supply closet of a machine shop. That’s a piece of American history!! Great find and glad you’re preserving it.

My thanks to all for the positive feedback.
There's something about that carousel that just resonates with me.

Well, thanks to the influence of @d.mcfarland, I picked up a set of the Wilde-made Hyper Tough pry bars when I was in Wally World this morning. Of course, I had to get the matching gasket scraper!! These will work for my infrequent need.

IMG_3919.jpeg

While there, I spotted this set on clearance and grabbed it. These will go on the boat, where tools go to sink!!!

Cool, but who would hammer on a gasket scraper? Isn't the point to go gently so you don't gouge the surface (and make the new gasket leak)?

Mike

Cork on cast iron, you can be pretty rough. Light taps wouldn't be out of the question on a large surface, or to dislodge petrified paper gaskets. I imagine they just slap a given handle size on whatever tool, regardless if youre.going to be whacking it with a hammer.

Got a swag box from one of our vendors today. Typical deal, couple shirts two sizes too small, cheezy umbrella, a hand bag (no I’m not joking), a half dozen golf balls (I don’t golf) and these

First off you snap on sock guys can **** it 😆

And @manwithtools might get his collection of bottle openers added to.

Agree with the above. I suspect that it’s a matter of convenience and parts availability. But, they were sitting right next to each other … genius marketing/stocking!!😜🤪

IMG_8058.jpegGot the second part of my order from Advance Auto today. 1/4 drive flex head ratchet. I love the smoothness of these ratchets and the fact there is no back drag. I’ve had very good luck with all my DieHard tools so far. I recommend them. Also for those who are wondering these are made in Taiwan.

I've been looking at Diehard long pattern wrenches as a spare set. The price is right. Their screwdrivers also look interesting but Goddamnit....Enough screwdrivers, already.

The wrenches are really nice. No flex or bend in high torque situations. I picked up a set and a few individuals a few years back when they first released. They also have grooves in the open end for grip. I’ve used two screwdrivers from the set and they are nice too. Tip holds up well too. Nice handles.
