Did yours come topped off with fluid? Mine was quite low. The box I bought did not appear to be a return. I am just curious if these jacks usually come with the right amount of fluid. I topped it off, and it works great, but I just found it strange.

Sounds exactly like my experience with a Pittsburgh engine hoist / cherry picker I bought at HF a few years ago.

Oddly, it lifted once, then wouldn't lift again until I topped off the fluid.

The Pittsburgh hydraulic ram I bought a coupla weeks ago probably was also low on fluid, because a lot of it was all over the outside of the unit while it was still wrapped in it shipping plastic. It's so irritating to have product with poor or absent QC, coming from a nation that's welcoming to our money but otherwise hostile to us, and branded with the name of an American city that had formerly been an industrial powerhouse. I guess I should go open up the package on the replacement ram to see if it's a leaker also.

So maybe you shouldn't give them your money? Just thinking aloud.

A few early observations:
  • New boot (obv. not pictured) was easier to get on - not sure if that's due to the open face for the lights or the fact that I hit it with a heat guy briefly before making the attempt.
  • Tri-lights are exactly what I holed for - vastly more light than the Gen1
  • The trigger doesn't feel different in neutral vs. In/Out, which I'm guessing is why I'm hearing about people accidentally changing modes. That's an ergonomics miss that surprises me for Milwaukee.
  • The new batteries are MUCH easier to get in and out - including on my other M12 tools.

I never trust the factory fluid anyway - I always bleed the jack.

I bought one on Saturday. Still in the box.

I’m sure I can figure it out, but I’ll still ask: what fluid do you use in the jack?

STP hydraulic jack oil. I just topped it off with that. The manual called for 22 viscosity oil or something.....I just put the STP hydraulic jack oil I had in the garage in it. Works great and doesn't feel spongy.

I want to say that I read somewhere that they intentionally under-fill them before shipping (I don't recall the reason why). I think the manual (or packaging) did warn me to check the level before use.

Mine wasn't leaking, and it moved fine on the first lift, so I mistakenly thought I could skip that step...

Look at this beauty. It’s a nos Kent-Moore J-21550 I snagged off eBay. I can replace door hinges on my GTO without removing the fender. I have never seen such a beautiful wrench! 🤣

Bonus pic of said fender.

Recently a Baldor 712 grinder found its way into the farm garage. Amazon delivered some ATS eye shields for the Baldor grinder. The orange paint certainly stands out on the old Baldor grinder. The eye shields aren't quite the plug and play advertised, but with very minor modifications (enlarging holes, tapping holes, trimming down threaded rods), the eye shields now sit atop the grinder. Total install time took about 30 minutes.

FB group im in has a whole catalog of p/ns if your interested?

Thanks for posting that. Compared to other tool catalogs, it's disorganized and the part numbers are almost random, but it's still leagues ahead of their awful website.
I think it's a little out of date, though. A lot of the items I searched for don't exist on the website: the hand impact wrench, some of the torque wrenches, the flank drive sockets, etc.

Thats a good find. Kent Moore used to make a ton of "dealer only" or "special tools" for the big 3. Over the years they have been over taken by Snap on. Thats a heck of a nice looking goat there!

Update : fed it some chainsaw oil and it's working nicely now.

It's like a ratchet , but smaller.
So this is the 2nd Gedore ratchet ive got off amazon that I'm not quite happy with. I bought another 1993z as I thought it would be the newer improved version of my 10 or so year old 1993z , and that is not the case. It actually felt like my 30+ year old 1993z so I returned it.
This 1/4" arrived today after being delayed and it sort of wants to lock up with every full rotation. I've fed it some oil and it's got better but still , I hope this is going to free up with more use, still, rather disappointed.
