I for one am stoked to/and see it as an investment in small business 👍

Now get that damn thing together and working. I wanna see our tax dollars hard at work 😂
Backed the two trailers into the current shop I'm building 5 minutes ago. Already got the "crew" together for Monday morning get ur done this upcoming week. It not a business, but will be a asset to our current business as we have a lot of equipment ( big iron) with a huge amount of tools and equipment including a metal fab shop. Now throw in the classic car/ hot rod thing it will definitely get some use. It was typical government way overkill for what they needed and the saaaaaaaftey word shut the whole thing down..

Was it a local government auction or something like Government Planet?
It was gov surplus broken down by state. I have bought a large amount at auctions and other venues over the years and one can score some really good deals. It absolutely does not happen most of the time, but with patience watching and knowing the value of things one can do very well. Anything that is a really good deal ( auction or other wise) one has to make the decision to pull the trigger instantly in most cases or it will be gone. Cash is king.

I'm on the lookout for that right angle die grinder. Twice in the last couple months, Home Depot had them for $154.00 with a free battery. Missed the boat both times, you had to be on top of it because the sale was over almost as soon as it started. Were you lucky enough to get in on that deal?

Absodamnlutely. And with a 5amp.

I screwed up above in my statement, I thought it also came with two 3 amp'rs but I forgot I bought two battery deals at the same time that each had, 1-5A and 2-3A for $99.00. Smoking deal across the board.

Now I just need to remember to buy some 1/8" collets.

The Electronic Specialties multimeter that I have had for over 10 years has started to fall apart on me where you plug in the leads. I have only replaced the test leads once or twice in that time frame and over all it was a good tool that I was happy with. I wanted to try something different this time so I went and looked through this forums history for info about multimeters. Somewhere in that search there were a couple of positive comments about the Matco meters and how inexpensive/good value they are on Ebay. The new one I ordered from a pawn shop came in today and I am looking forward to getting to use it.

Yard sale, $10.
Box in pristine shape with the factory seal intact. Interesting. Not much else tool-wise at this sale, so I don't think it was stolen. Turned it on and it went into the setup menu, so appears indeed to be brand new and never used. Didn't have a need for one until I saw this and quickly figured out I needed it!

I'm in the Dewalt 20V camp, but when it came to nail guns, I had to stray...

Picked up an M18 16ga straight nailer with an 8Ah battery and charger...

As well as an M12 23ga pin nailer with a 4Ah battery and charger...

Now that the brand barrier has been broken, I sort of fear (and sort of hope) more red will follow.

Somehow I made it this far without any E-torx sockets. Well that day came today. Some 306 pliers and a hard handle flex head Dual 80 ratchet from the Snap On man to replace the one in my Tekton socket set I don't like. And some Tekton large wrench/socket filler sizes.
I bought a small 4 pc set of E-Torx at OReilys for the motor mounts on a Ford Focus. Now working on a ‘14 Chevy Cruze 1.4 L Turbo and everything is E-Torx including the crank pulley bolt (a 14 or maybe a 15? mm works) and I’m thinking about a larger set now.

Only one way to find out: Put a 6-foot iron cheater pipe on it and go break some stuff!

Mike
Thats actually the plan and why I bought these.

Im trying to unbolt the tow hook out of my bumper on my tacoma as I reversed into a steel structure protecting a fire hydrant when taking an old door frame to the scrap metal place and need to replace the bumper.
I started feeling sorry for my 1/2 breaker bar with a 38mm socket and decided I didn't want to test it's limitations as 38mm that needs a good amount of force is probably asking a bit much. I was going to heat and crayon but then saw these for sale so this I'll try before resorting to heat and crayon. I'll have the camera ready as if this fails , I'd like to get it on video , if it doent fail , I'd like to get that too. This was cheap so I don't mind testing it to its potential failure point. I'm curious to see.

My favorite tool for opening car windows when I worked for the FD.

I worked in an auto glass factory. You have to do break tests to ensure that the tempered glass pieces are a certain size; the workers used spring loaded centerpunches to break the glass. There was a mold that the glass sat in when it was broken so that it didn't go everywhere.

I'm not proud of it, but I may or may not have used a pair of diagonal cutters on a small e-torx and gotten away with it in a pinch once. :ROFLMAO:

Welcome to the slippery slope... There is no turning back now.

We used to have a support group that met at 7:00 on Tuesdays in the church basement but gave up when we realized we were all just a bunch of enablers.

I bought this Proto cape chisel from Zoro, where it was described as being 3/16" wide. When it arrived I was surprised to see "1/4" and "11/64" stamped on the side of the chisel. I was even more surprised when I measured the chisel at the tip, as it is exactly 13/64" (0.203") wide.
