I liked yours so much I picked one up for myself. Sure beats the cardboard box I was using temporarily.Mail lady made my day, really didn’t think this would get here this week! Husky 16” large mouth tool bag. I kinda treated myself on this one, somebody posted it in a thread several months ago and I liked it. I’ve been researching for weeks trying to make up my mind, reading reviews and fondling the different options at all the stores. I almost pulled the trigger on the $25 one at Harbor Freight, but at the last second I walked out empty handed. So I went back to the Home Depot website and was checking this one out again trying to justify the $50 to myself. And then I see that the shipping would be free so I added it to my cart just to see if it was true. Sure enough it was, and they also finally got my tax exemption certificate added to my account so there was no tax either. Shipped to my door for $49.97, so I pulled the trigger.
I’ve been wanting to upgrade tool bags for a little while. I keep this one in my feed truck most of the time, but I also switch between my trucks pretty frequently and I like to take it with me depending on where I’m headed. It came with my Ingersoll cordless impact and it’s been great. It’s been LOTS of miles with me but it hasn’t been “used” much so it’s still in great shape. It was just totally out of room as you can see.
The biggest thing that drew me to this particular bag was the little storage compartment on the bottom. It seemed kinda gimmicky at first, but then I thought if my 3/8” Tekton socket set in the blow molded case would fit in it, I wouldn’t have to empty the whole bag to get it out of the bottom. I tried like hell to find where someone had told the dimensions of the compartment but I didn’t find any. So I took a chance.
I wasn’t sure at first, it sure looked big compared to the opening.
But it fit right in there just like it was made for it. It has to go through the opening at a little bit of an angle, but it doesn’t take any force at all.
And there it is all loaded up. I have a few more things I want to add now that I have the room and I’m already working on that. Overall really happy I went with this one. It’s really well made and has way more pockets than I can utilize. You can see that I removed the “tool wall” that velcros in the center and has more pockets for storing tools upright. I will say that this thing is HEAVY even when empty, it’s got some framework and a hard plastic bottom with feet. So if a guy was gonna carry it by hand every day it may not be the correct choice, but for me to haul around behind the seat of the truck just for the rare occasions I have to work on something away from my main toolbox, it’s fantastic.
(yes, I need to upgrade the freebie multimeter; my Fluke lives in my toolbox at my workshop)

I used the bottom compartment for my nut driver set and 9" level. I couldn't come up with any way to fit them inside the bag I liked that would let it close properly.
